The Presidential couple have gone to Europe for a short Private stay.

This is Paul Biya's first journey out of Cameroon after the October 2025 election.

Before then he travel to Switzerland in September 2025.
He departed from Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport alongside First Lady Chantal Biya on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

The trip took place exactly three weeks before the October 12, 2025, presidential election.

In 2024, he went for a short Private stay in Europe but ended up staying for 42 days.

Mr Biya has left without appointing the VP of Cameroon despite promulgating a constitutional amendment into law.

The two people who hold a legitimate claim to the Cameroon presidency are currently out of the country.

One is in Gambia, and the other is somewhere in Europe.

They left without a definitive timeline for when they will return.

But one thing is certain: they are expected back home.

President Paul, 93, was declared the winner in last year's controversial election. Issa Tchiroma Bakary says he won and has vowed to fight and reclaim his victory.

Unlike the FSNC, which tallied the results and showed how they won, the CPDM never did, apart from saying the Constitutional Council declared them the winners.

Now that the election is over, many have yet to move on from it.

While Biya was sworn in for an eighth term, Tchiroma continues to maintain the title of president-elect.

This has left the country in limbo.

Suddenly, both of them are abroad. As to who is in charge — well, we don't know.

The post of vice president was recently created, but nobody occupies it.

Until that is addressed, the current line of succession still places the Senate president next in line.

BREAKING NEWS 🚨..

A deadly Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has claimed at least 88 lives and spread to neighboring Uganda, health authorities have said.

As of May 17, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 10 confirmed cases and 336 suspected cases across three health zones in the DRC, with 88 deaths.

The outbreak is concentrated in Ituri Province, a region already weakened by ongoing insecurity.

In Uganda, two confirmed cases have been reported among people who traveled from the DRC, including one death. No additional case has been reported in the country.

However, the numbers remain subject to change as the outbreak continues to evolve.

According to the World Health Organization, the current outbreak is caused by the Bundibugyo virus strain of Ebola, for which there are no approved drugs or vaccines yet.

The Bundibugyo strain kills between 25 and 40 percent of infected persons, according to Doctors Without Borders (MSF), which has been responding to the outbreak in the DRC.

Early symptoms of the virus include fever, headache, vomiting, severe weakness, abdominal pain, nosebleeds, and vomiting blood.

Breaking News:

Fear has gripped the village of Ikata in the Muyuka Subdivision following the killing of three civilians this morning. The attack adds to a rapidly deteriorating security situation in the area, coming just 24 hours after two security officers were brutally killed in the same subdivision.

Details of this morning's assault are still emerging, but residents report that the three victims were shot in cold blood. Monday's earlier violence claimed the lives of two uniformed men who died during a violent confrontation, marking the beginning of what has become a deadly 48-hour period for the community.

The motive behind the civilian killings remains unclear, and no group has officially claimed responsibility for either attack. Authorities have yet to issue a public statement on the latest deaths, leaving residents in shock as the violence continues to target both security forces and ordinary citizens alike.

BREAKING NEWS..🚨

A bill on presidential vacancy is currently under review in Cameroon 🇨🇲 Parliament.

Following the adoption of the law creating the position of Vice President of the Republic, Cameroon’s National Assembly is now examining a new bill, referenced No. 2095/PJL/AN, which amends Articles 38 and 39 of the 2004 law governing the organization and functioning of the Constitutional Council.

The objective is to adapt the existing legal framework to this new constitutional reality. Specifically, the text clarifies the procedure in the event of a vacancy at the head of state. If the President resigns, the resignation letter must be addressed to both the Constitutional Council and the Vice President. In the case of permanent incapacity, the Vice President is responsible for referring the matter to the Constitutional Council, which must rule by a two-thirds majority of its members. The decision is then published under an emergency procedure in the Official Gazette, in both French and English.

Cameroon is building, step by step, a new institutional architecture. But according to experts, it is all on a foundation of illegality.

The debate has only just begun. But as it progresses, Cameroon is slipping fast into a totalitarian state where the voice of the people mean NOTHING
