Gilly-C Gilly-C whose real name is Gilbert AMBE is an upcoming talented Cameroonian artist who sings Afro Genre pop music, He has a charming soprano voice that many listeners miss it for a female artist. Gilly-C is the short form of Gilbert and C stands for crazy. Crazy because he is also a great dancer and was known for doing crazy dance moves in his early career. He also refers to himself as I am also crazy because he sings a mixture off different music kinds including gospel.
He did his primary education in Bamenda and also later on his Higher education in the University of Bamenda where he obtained a DIPET 1 and also bachelor’s degree in urban planning and surveys. His love for music started in his primary school days when he was singing for his school choir then later in the music club in secondary school. During these days, he started doing life play backs from famous Nigerian artists like 2Face Idibia, Mr. May-D, Wizkid and Brackets. He later was most captured by the music style of Wizkid and Kizz Daniel which has greatly influenced his music style of today.
In his old days, he used the beats of his favorite artists to interpreted their songs in bars and local shows in Bamenda. He started working with Bamenda urban gospel music, where he did a couple of gospel tracks. After this, he recorded his first single-Baby. He later on was signed by ABT Entertainment where he has gained international recognition. According to Gilly-C, music is a way of passing his message and expressing his feelings and emotions to those around and the world. Gilly-C mostly gets his inspiration from the life and environment where he grew up, the things happening around, novels, African documentaries and poets. He enjoys creating awareness about the things that people always ignore, while passing the message in artistic form. We are pleased to have Gilly-C at Abt Entertainment
