Aunt Ama was a stern woman with a heart as hard as the stones that lined the village.
Elna lived a life tinged with both wonder and hardship. The village was a haven of natural beauty, where streams flowed with crystal clear water teeming with fish and crabs, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers. Elna, an orphan, lived with her uncle, Mr. Owusu, a teacher in the neighboring village. Due to his demanding schedule, he would often leave early on Mondays and return only on weekends, leaving Elna under the care of his wife, Aunt Ama.
Aunt Ama was a stern woman with a heart as hard as the stones that lined the village streams. She treated Elna poorly, making her do all the household chores and often finding fault in everything she did. Elna's days were filled with endless work and loneliness, but she found solace in the beauty of nature that surrounded her. She would often sneak away to the streams, watching the fish swim gracefully and the crabs scuttle across the water's edge. The forest, with its towering trees and vibrant wildlife, was her sanctuary.
Despite the hardships, Elna's spirit remained unbroken. She would often dream of a better life, one where she was loved and cherished. Her uncle, though well-intentioned, was oblivious to the mistreatment Elna endured at the hands of his wife. On weekends, when he returned home, Elna would put on a brave face, hiding the pain and sadness that filled her heart.
One day, as Elna wandered deeper into the forest than she had ever been before, she stumbled upon a hidden glade. In the center of the glade was a magnificent tree, its branches heavy with the most beautiful flowers Elna had ever seen. As she approached, she noticed that the flowers seemed to be glowing softly in the fading light. Without thinking, Elna reached out and touched one of the flowers. Suddenly, the glade was filled with a warm, golden light, and Elna felt a sense of peace and happiness she had never known before.
From that day on, Elna visited the hidden glade whenever she could, finding comfort and strength in the magical flowers. She began to realize that despite her difficult circumstances, she was not alone, and there was beauty and wonder in the world that she could hold onto. As the weeks turned into months, Elna's visits to the glade became more frequent, and she started to notice changes within herself. She stood taller, her smile returned, and her eyes sparkled with a newfound hope...
