Molyko Buea!
Lady ends up at police station due to love for quick money!
It was 7pm Babungo time on Saturday May 31 when this young lady of about 20 years, a student of the University of Buea was contacted by a so called "MTN agent" informing her that she won 1 million bonus from the company, due to her commitment to the network.
According to this "MTN agent", she had to send some money to settle charges before her fortune could be sent to her.
She started by sending 6000FCFA but the agent insisted the money was not enough. The agent insisted she go to a nearest mobile money vendor and ask the vendor to send 71000FCFA to his number and instruction which she obeyed though she had only 500FCFA left with her. After asking the vendor to do the deposit, she stood and was happily waiting for the MTN agent to send her 1 million FCFA so she could settle the mobile money vendor. Few minutes later she was blocked by the so called MTN agent. Unable to get the 71000 FCFA deposit, the Momo vendor had to alert the central police Buea. In less than 30 minutes, she was picked up and currently under investigation.
Beware of quick money!
