A Pro-Biya supporter, Raoul Bia, has revealed that administrative authorities have issued a stern warning to business owners, stating that:

> “Starting Monday, anyone complicit in the unlawful closure of their businesses will have their shops permanently sealed, and their retail spaces reassigned to other operators.”

This announcement comes as opposition leader Issa Tchiroma has called for nationwide “ghost towns” from Monday, November 3 to Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in protest of what he describes as a stolen election and ongoing repression.

The last time Cameroon experienced a nationwide “ville morte” campaign was in 1991, when opposition parties sought to pressure the government into convening a sovereign national conference for democratic reforms.

According to analysts, Tchiroma’s call for ghost towns serves as both a symbol of resistance and a strategic move to draw international attention while exerting economic pressure on the regime.

Fresh Protests Erupt Across Tanzania After Contested Elections 🇹🇿

Fresh demonstrations have broken out across Tanzania’s major cities, just a day after elections marred by violent clashes between opposition supporters and police.⁣
⁣ Gunfire was reported in Mwanza, while unrest spread through Dodoma and Dar es Salaam, now under tight security with major roads blocked.⁣
⁣ Protesters accuse the government of undermining democracy, pointing to the jailing of one opposition leader and the disqualification of another from the presidential race — moves widely seen as favoring President Samia Suluhu Hassan.⁣
⁣ Rights group Amnesty International has described reports of a civilian and a police officer killed in Wednesday’s clashes as “deeply disturbing.”⁣

Just in — Issa Tchiroma Bakary

It looks like an open war against the Cameroonian people. They stop at nothing: assassinations, repression, and other abuses. They do not want peace. For them, every means is acceptable to stay in power because they fear the consequences if they leave — which explains the extreme violence of their actions.

Yesterday they kidnapped two members of my family here in Garoua, as well as my personal cook. Do you think such actions will intimidate me? All you will accomplish is to estrange the people even more. I demand their immediate release, and the release of everyone else who has been abducted or arbitrarily detained.

🗳🇨🇲🙄 Social Media Activist Arrested for Allegedly Inciting Attacks on State Institutions

The National Gendarmerie has arrested 41-year-old social media activist Geneviève Timma Ella, popularly known online as “Reine des Bois,” for allegedly inciting insurrection and urging attacks on state buildings and officials.

According to authorities, the arrest took place on October 29 in Bafoussam following a joint investigation conducted by the Gendarmerie’s Central Criminal Investigation Service and the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies (ANTIC).

Security sources claim Geneviève used WhatsApp and other online platforms to share messages considered subversive and threatening to public order including alleged calls to set filling stations on fire, harm state officials, and destroy public property.

Geneviève, however, denied the allegations, stating:

> “Those in the WhatsApp group selected only messages that would incriminate me.”

She has reportedly been transferred to Yaoundé for further questioning as investigations continue.

The National Gendarmerie reaffirmed its commitment to tracking down social media offenders regardless of their location.

🇨🇲 Statement from Issa Tchiroma Bakary: “Our Victory Will Not Be Stolen”

Fellow Cameroonians,

Since the proclamation of distorted election results by the Constitutional Council, our country has been gripped by unprecedented tension. Once again, the will of the people has been confiscated, and the sovereignty of the nation trampled upon. But this time, the people have risen — standing tall, proud, and brave — to say no to the seizure of power.

Across all regions — from North to South, East to West — Cameroonians have spoken peacefully, armed only with the weapon granted to them by the Constitution: their voice.
Yet, that voice was met with gunfire. Real bullets answered songs of freedom. Our sons and daughters were struck down in their youth, and peaceful marches turned into blind repression, marked by targeted arrests and profiling.

Today, the provisional toll is heavy:

Arbitrary arrests of political leaders, civil society figures, content creators, and thousands of protesters.

Hundreds dead or wounded.

Families plunged into mourning, recalling the traumatic memories of 1984.

While the people grieve their martyrs, those responsible for this tragedy celebrate shamelessly, flaunting their cynicism and contempt for the people on social media.
In one viral video, the President of the Constitutional Council himself, visibly intoxicated, boasted of having “ensured” the outgoing president’s victory.

> What a shame for our Republic!

But those who believe fear will make us yield are mistaken: a people who have lost their fear are an invincible people.

Fellow Cameroonians,
Despite this climate of terror designed to silence us, we will not give up.

👉 From Monday, November 3 to Wednesday, November 5, I call on all citizens to observe “ghost towns.” Let the entire nation come to a standstill — so the world sees that we are resisting and that we will not surrender.
Let us close our shops, suspend our activities, and stay home in silence, showing solidarity and reminding this regime that the strength of an economy lies in its people — and this people no longer recognize it as their leader.

The time for fear and division is over.
Let us stand united, proud, and steadfast against those who preach peace while spreading terror, misery, and blood.
Let us remain calm yet determined, dignified yet unyielding.

> Our victory will not be stolen.
I have pledged never to betray you — and I will not.
Together, we will triumph.

May God bless Cameroon.
Glory and honor to our martyrs.
Long live the Republic.

— Issa Tchiroma Bakary
