Me ah bi na mbanga.

The palm tree (mbanga) teaches us resilience. It bends in the storm but never breaks, and every part of it is useful. Like the mbanga, may your life be rooted, fruitful, and a blessing to many.

Many musicians get so focused on perfection that they forget to enjoy the art itself.
Excellence is important, but learning to appreciate where you are allows you to clearly see the areas you need to grow in.

It’s interesting—most musicians don’t like to hear themselves play, and most creatives don’t like the work they’ve just finished. That’s why so many gifted people end up feeling discouraged.

But look at God—after every work He created, He said, “This is good.”
If you can’t first see that what you’ve done is good, no amount of applause will ever satisfy you.

At the same time, don’t fall into the trap of complacency. Celebrate your growth, but never settle. Always challenge yourself to reach the next level.

And remember—your standard isn’t another creative. Your standard is what God told you about yourself.

How to Stay Creative Even When You Don't Feel Motivated

Let’s be real—there are days when you don’t feel like writing, singing, producing, or even touching your instrument. You love music, but the ginger just isn't there. 😓

But here's what most people won’t tell you:
Creativity doesn’t always need motivation. It needs consistency.

In Cameroon (and across Africa), many of us are building our creative dreams with limited resources, distractions everywhere, and real-life responsibilities. That’s why you can’t afford to wait until you feel inspired. You must build discipline.

🎤 Here’s how to stay creative even on dry days:

🎧 1. Create Small Daily Habits
Even 10–15 minutes a day to write lyrics, freestyle, or practice vocals helps. The magic grows with time.

📒 2. Don’t Judge Your Work Too Quickly
Every big hit started rough. Allow yourself to write songs or ideas that don’t sound perfect yet. Keep them. Grow them.

🎼 3. Surround Yourself With Creatives
Join a local music group, worship team. When you see others pushing, it inspires you to keep going too.

🧘🏾‍♂️ 4. Take Breaks, But Stay Connected
Rest is important, but don’t disconnect completely. Listen to music, watch performances, go for walks, pray, or journal. Refresh, don’t disappear.

🙏🏽 5. Commit Your Gift to God
You’re not just a musician — you’re a vessel. Ask God for fresh fire, direction, and discipline. He gave you the gift; He’ll give you the strength to use it well.

🎶 Even when you don’t feel like it, show up.
Because real creatives don’t wait for the perfect mood — they create through every mood.
