LITTLE CHILDREN, YOUNG MEN AND FATHERS

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one... (1 John 2:12-13).

Notice that in the scripture we just read, the Apostle John only associated sin with “little children,” spiritual toddlers. Yet, many speak as though sin is inevitable for everyone, saying, “Everybody sins”; no! The Bible says, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin…” (1 John 3:9).

Moreover, the Bible describes sin and defines sin from God’s perspective, not man’s perspective. If you look at sin through the eyes of men, you’ll never rise to your best potential in Christ. The earth around us is thick with sin and condemnation. Man became a sinner in nature after his actions of treasonable disobedience.

Romans 5:12 says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” It’s the reason the Lord Jesus came and solved the sin-problem once and for all through His vicarious sacrifice in our behalf. As the second Adam, He became sin for us, not a sinner, and therefore paid the full penalty for sin, ridding us of its effects.

Today, being born again, sin has no dominion over you (Romans 6:14). 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” So, when the Bible says, “Whoever has been born of God does not sin...” (1 John 3:9 NKJV), it’s because being born of Him, you have His life and nature that doesn’t sin. That’s the life of the new creation in Christ!
What if you sin? While that shows you’re still a child, he already said to the children, “Your sins are forgiven for His Name sake.” But better than that, He also made provision for your automatic cleansing: “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7 NKJV).
Knowing and walking in the light of God’s Word is the key. It shows you’ve matured spiritually. That’s the life of the fathers: walking in the light of your righteousness—in the light of who you are in Christ—above sin, Satan and the elements of this world. Praise God!

Prayer / Confession
I have the life and nature of God in me; I live the higher life in Christ. I walk in strength, victory and righteousness. I walk in the light of my identity and heritage in Christ, above sin, Satan and the elements of this world. Glory to God!

💫WE HAVE THE SAME SPIRIT

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him (John 3:34).

Many people speak about different measures of the Spirit, as if Christians receive varying portions of the Holy Spirit. But the truth is that we all received the same Holy Spirit in the same measure. We received the fullness of Him. The Holy Spirit is a Person, and when you received Him, you received the entirety of His Person.

We read in our opening scripture that God doesn’t give the Spirit by measure, meaning you didn’t receive a part but all of Him. This is how the Lord Jesus received the Holy Spirit, and it’s how every Christian receives Him. It marks a significant difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament.

In the Old Testament, the Spirit came on them in measures and for specific assignments, but now, we have received the fullness of Him. If the Spirit were given in measures today, how could we truly know how much we have received? What you have is the same Spirit that the apostles received. Studying the Book of Acts reveals a consistency: the Spirit in them produced boldness, power, and extraordinary results.

The same is true of us today. The early Church carried the consciousness of the Kingdom and the authority of Christ. They preached with clarity and conviction, and God’s Word prevailed in their cities just as it does through us around the world today. By the same Spirit, the sick are healed, we cast out devils, raise the dead, and transform entire communities.

We believe in what we have received and we’re acting accordingly; the Name of the Lord Jesus is magnified. We’re unstoppable because we know who we are and what we have. In Romans 8:11, this truth is amplified: it’s not a part of the Spirit that raised the Lord Jesus from the dead that’s dwelling in us; it’s the “same Spirit.” That same Spirit has vitalised your physical body and invigorated you with miracle-working ability. This is your reality. Walk in this consciousness and manifest the power and dominion of Christ.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit who lives in me in His fullness. I walk in the consciousness of His indwelling presence, and I manifest the power, boldness and authority of Christ everywhere. My life is vitalised by the same Spirit that raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, and I walk in the dominion, wisdom and victory of the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

ALIGN YOUR WORDS WITH HIS WORD

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63).

The Lord Jesus said, "...the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63). The same is true about our words, because as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Our words are not ordinary. When you understand this, you’ll put a premium on words and become careful how you use them.

Words are the greatest things in the world. The Lord Jesus set an example for us on the use of words. He healed with words, He blessed with words, and He changed lives with words. On a certain occasion, some officers were sent to arrest Him; when they got to where He was, they met Him teaching and decided to listen (John 7:32, 45-46). When He was through, they couldn’t bring themselves to lay hands on Him. When they returned without Him, the elders asked, "Where is He?" (John 7:45).

They answered, "...No man ever spoke like this Man!" (John 7:46 NKJV). It wasn’t that the Master used unusual expressions or rare diction; it was the power, truth, and spirit of His words (John 6:63; Luke 4:32). His words mended the brokenhearted, cast out devils, and even raised the dead (Luke 4:18-19; John 11:43-44). His words got a response from heaven; the Father responded to His words (John 12:28).
In Christ, we have received that same life. Our words, spoken in faith, are spirit and life. Your words bring healing, comfort, direction, and blessings. This is why you must never take your words lightly. Speak with truth, grace, and faith. Speak as one who understands the power and energy of words.
Remember the words of the Master in Matthew 12:37, “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Align your speech continually with the Word, and it’ll produce life and results. Keep growing in this understanding. Hallelujah!

Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for your Word, which cultures my spirit and fills my heart with faith, love, and righteousness. My words are not ordinary; they are spirit and life, producing healing, comfort, restoration, and blessings in my world, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

THE HIGHER REALM OF FAITH
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

Faith is such an important subject in the Word of God. The Bible says without faith, it’s impossible to please God. But what exactly is faith? The Bible gives us the clearest definition as read in our opening scripture. In the Old Testament, what we call faith was often expressed more as trust or confidence in God. They trusted Him to keep His promises, to guide them, to be with them on their journeys.

Abraham, for example, demonstrated this kind of faith by making an unqualified commitment to God, breaking all the limits of trust. But in the New Testament, faith is revealed as something higher and greater. It’s not just having the confidence that God “will” act or do something; it’s living in the finished works of Christ. It’s knowing and accepting that God has done all He ever needed to do for us and acting accordingly.

Therefore, faith being the substance of things hoped for means it’s the “materiality” of your hope. It’s the assurance that what you’ve believed has become real, you’ve possessed it, irrespective of what your mind or senses may tell you. The Word of God is the evidence that you’re who God says you are, you have what He says you have, and you can do what He says you can do. Your response to these and other truths in the Word of God is faith.

That’s why we say faith is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God. When you hear His Word, your spirit must grasp it as real because your spirit can see, perceive, and respond to spiritual realities even when your senses can’t. That’s what God expects of us. It’s not enough to trust Him occasionally in one area of life, but to live entirely in this higher realm of faith. Hebrews 10:38 says, “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

Prayer / Confession
My faith is the victory that overcomes the world. I see, possess, and live in the reality of my heritage, identity and abilities in Christ Jesus. My faith is active, producing results and changing hopeless circumstances for the glory of God. Amen.

💫 THE EXCELLENCE OF THE NEW MAN IN CHRIST 💫

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him (Colossians 3:10).

When you were born again, you were recreated in righteousness and true holiness. You’re not a “forgiven sinner” but a brand-new creature, made in the image and likeness of God. Colossians 1:22 describes you as holy, unblameable and unreproveable in the sight of God. In other words, there’s nothing for God to accuse you of or find fault with; He holds absolutely nothing against you.

Furthermore, this new man thinks, talks, and acts like God. He’s God’s excellent handiwork: “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]” (Ephesians 2:10 AMPC).

You’re not trying to be holy or righteous; you were born that way. The more you renew your mind with this truth, the more this divine reality will govern your thoughts and actions and be expressed in your life. You’re not an upgraded version of your old self; that old man has ceased to exist. You now carry the very life and nature of Christ: pure, perfect, sanctified, glorified, and justified.

This is why you must refuse to accept weakness, failure, defeat or sin as normal. You were created to express the glory and virtues of divinity in your everyday life: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9 AMPC).

You’ve been called to glory and excellence: “For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue)” (2 Peter 1:3 AMPC). Walk in the consciousness of your new identity. Manifest the beauty, love, wisdom and purity of Christ everywhere. That’s your life. That’s your calling. Glory to God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for recreating me in righteousness and true holiness. I live in the consciousness of my new nature. I manifest your excellence, wisdom, purity, love and divine power. My life is a testimony of your grace, righteousness and glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

💫 THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS 💫

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame (1 Corinthians 15:34).

Until you become conscious of your righteousness, it will not work for you. To be righteousness conscious means to be aware that you have been justified, cleansed and accepted before God. It means you no longer see yourself through the eyes of your past but through the righteousness of Christ.

Guilt and fear lose their power when you’re righteousness-conscious. This is what Paul meant when he said, “Awake to righteousness.” Wake up to who you are! You’re not a sinner saved by grace; you’re a new creature in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away, and all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

This awareness transforms your fellowship with God and gives you the mentality of dominion in life. Don’t say, “I’m just an ordinary person, trying to please God!” No; you’re not ordinary; you’re the righteousness of God. Think, talk, and live righteousness, and you’ll produce fruits of righteousness.

PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the impartation of your righteousness to my spirit. I’m conscious of who I am in Christ; sanctified, glorified and justified. I walk boldly before you, and I reign in life through the grace of Jesus Christ. I live triumphantly by the power of the Spirit, producing fruits and works of righteousness in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

💫 THE WORD AT WORK IN YOU 💫

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword… (Hebrews 4:12).

God’s Word is living and active; it has the power to change anything and anyone. When you receive the Word into your heart, it produces what it talks about. It heals, transforms the mind, produces prosperity, and causes you to walk in victory. The Word works when it is received and acted upon. It’s programmed to produce results in the one who receives it in faith.

It’s the reason we’re enjoined to be doers of the Word and not hearers only: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed” (James 1:22-25). The blessing is in doing the Word. It’s not enough to hear it; you must believe it, declare it, and act on it.

When you respond to the Word rightly, it takes root in your spirit, dominates your thoughts and actions, and prevails over circumstances. Think of the Word as a living seed. Once planted in a receptive heart, it grows and produces fruits of righteousness, health and success. That is why meditating on the Word is so vital; it causes the Word to move from your head into your heart, where it becomes a living reality that governs your life, activating its creative power.

Remember, the Word created and sustains the universe and everything therein: John 1:1-3, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God… All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” Hebrews 1:3 tells us that God upholds all things by the word of His power.

Therefore, the Word can and would surely build your life and your future if you give it preeminence in your life. It’ll sustain your success and prosperity, and keep you in perpetual victory. Psalm 1:1-3 (TPT) beautifully describes what happens when you’re a doer of the Word: you’re like a tree deeply planted and rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruits in every season of life. You’re luscious, ever blessed and ever prosperous. Blessed be God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, your Word is alive in me and at work in my body, my mind, and my spirit, producing divine health, wisdom, and success. I live by the Word, and it propels me on the pathway of unending blessings, glory and excellence today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

James 1:22-25 NKJV;

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
