_Installation of New CEPCA Leaders: A New Era for Protestant Churches in Cameroon_
May 4, 2025, marks a significant milestone for the Council of Protestant Churches of Cameroon (CPCC) as the former President, the Very Rev Dr Fonki Samuel Forba institutes and inducts into office the President and vice presidents ofbthe Council. The ceremony took place at the EPC ADNA Church in Yaoundé, bringing together more than 1000 Protestants from different denominations across the country. During the divine service, the Preacher- Rev Sokeng Alain Clement captioned his homily :"God seeks leaders after His own heart," with inspiration from Acts 13:20-23. He underscored the importance of aligning with God's will and purposes in leadership.
*The New Leadership Team*
The new leadership team, headed by President Rev. Hamadina Salomon is set to steer the council towards greater heights. Other key leaders include:
- 1st Vice President: Rev. Billa Mbenga Alexandre, Head of Eglise Evangelique du Cameroun (EEC)
- 2nd Vice President: Rev Sokeng A. Clement, General Superintendent of the Full Gospel Mission in Cameroon.
The installation ceremony was conducted by the Very Rev. Dr. Fonki Samuel, the former president of CPCC and moderator Emeritus of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC).
*Brief Profile of the Imductees*
- *Rev. Hamadina Salomon*: Rev. Salomon has worked with the Programme for Christian-Muslim Relations in Africa (PROCMURA), promoting peace and coexistence in Northern Cameroon. His leadership experience within CEPCA and the Union of Evangelical Churches in Cameroon (UEEC) has prepared him to unite Protestant churches in Cameroon.
- *Rev. Billa Mbenga Alexandre*: Rev. Alexandre serves as the President of Eglise Evangelique du Cameroun (EEC). With a background rooted in the Sanaga-Maritime region, he was elected to lead the church during a time of healing and unity. As President of the EEC, Rev. Alexandre's role involves promoting unity among members and guiding the church towards a brighter future. He was inducted as the 1st Vice President of CPCC.
- *General Superintendent: Sokeng Alain Clément. Rev Sokeng Alain Clément serves as President of the Full Gospel Mission in Cameroon, with over 33 years of dedicated service. He was inducted as the 2nd Vice President of CEPCA, bringing his wealth of experience to this key leadership role.
*A New Chapter for CPCC*
As President, Rev. Salomon will lead CPCC in her efforts to foster unity and cooperation among its 12 member churches, including the UEEC, Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, Eglise Evangelique du Cameroun, Native Baptist church, Eglise Protestante Africaine, Cameroon Baptist Convention, Union des eglises Baptiste du Cameroun, and Baptist Churches. With his installation, Rev. Salomon is poised to make a positive impact on the Protestant community in Cameroon.
The ceremony was attended by members respective churches, including the Evangelical Church of Cameroon and the Full Gospel Mission ù7Cameroon, as well as pastors from various member churches of CEPCA. During the ceremony, the newly elected leaders were installed and pledged to serve the council and the Protestant community with dedication and integrity. The event highlighted the importance of CEPCA's role in promoting Christian values and unity among its member churches. The installation ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter for CPCC, and the council's leadership is expected to build on the foundation laid by their predecessors. With their commitment to serving the Lord and the community, the new leaders are poised to make a positive impact on the lives of Cameroonians.
