đđĄ đđ„đđđâą| In a major public health initiative, ICT University this week launched a sensitization and free, voluntary, and anonymous screening campaign for HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The operation, carried out in partnership with the First Ladyâs Social Vaccine Program, aims to strengthen the fight against HIV/AIDS and promote a culture of responsible health practices among students.
From Wednesday, November 19 to Friday, November 21, the entire university community was invited to take part in the sessions, which included conferences and educational workshops on the prevention of emerging pandemics. Nchang Leslie, a university nurse, emphasized that âearly screening remains a key factor in the effective management of HIV and the prevention of its transmission.â
This fully confidential campaign gives students the opportunity to know their HIV status without administrative constraints or disclosure of personal information. Participants also received individualized counseling on risky sexual behaviors and STI protection.
Meanwhile, the university has implemented a mandatory health evaluation program for all new students enrolled for the Fall 2025 semester.
This mobilization is part of ICT Universityâs broader strategy to develop informed and responsible students while strengthening access to quality healthcare and protecting the confidentiality of medical records. According to administrators, the goal is to prepare a generation that is aware of current health challenges and capable of contributing to a safer university environment.
