From June 23 to 26, 2025, the 36th Sunny Side of the Doc took place as scheduled in La Rochelle, France. As a major annual event in the global documentary industry, this year’s edition attracted over 2,100 professionals from more than 1,000 institutions across 60+ countries and regions. YI Mingzhu明珠易, partner and producer at REAL IMAGE MEDIA, participated as a representative and presented two original documentary projects. She engaged in a series of one-on-one meetings with institutions from the UK, Portugal, France, Canada, and other countries, laying the groundwork for future international collaborations.

At noon on June 24, the China Pavilion hosted its annual flagship event - “China Hour”, which featured two segments: project pitching and institutional presentations. The event attracted numerous decision-makers from international media organizations. Over the years, “China Hour” has become a key window for global buyers to understand the latest trends and cooperation opportunities in Chinese documentary filmmaking.

REAL IMAGE MEDIA’s documentary project - Seed On The Border was selected for the pitching session. The film centers on an orphanage named “Leadership Home” in the mountainous region of northern Thailand. This unique institution shelters children who have fled the civil unrest in Myanmar or are trapped in extreme poverty. It teaches them farming, management, and leadership skills, empowering them to become “young leaders” capable of transforming their own lives and the destiny of their communities. The orphanage director, Pramote, offers a simple yet profound definition of leadership: “A leader has a strong heart and shares love and knowledge with those in need. This help doesn’t have to be financial — it can be in the form of ideas, energy, or anything else one possesses.” The project's humanistic spirit and global perspective received significant attention from international audiences.

That evening, over 100 Chinese and international guests gathered at the La Rochelle Maritime Museum for “China Night”, an achievement-sharing session hosted by the China Pavilion. During the event, REAL IMAGE MEDIA and French company REAL WORKS officially unveiled their joint animated documentary film project Wing Chun.

The film is co-developed by a team led by Qiu Jiaqiu, founder of REAL IMAGE MEDIA, and a team led by Gao Weihua, professor at the Communication University of China and producer of the animated film Jiang Ziya. The project has already completed preliminary filming in China and several European countries. Aiming to become China's first animated documentary film focused on Wing Chun, the project has already attracted cooperation interest from various European and Canadian platforms and production companies.

Project Follow-Up:
One week after Sunny Side of the Doc, Master Meng— an 8th-degree certified master of the International Wushu Federation and national Wing Chun council member of USAWKF — was invited to Paris to teach. He is the designated North American “key figure” for the Wing Chun documentary project.
From founding the Wing Chun Museum in the U.S. to running his own school in San Francisco, Master Meng exemplifies how the inclusive spirit of Chinese martial arts continues to thrive and evolve in the West. His work explores cross-cultural exchange and youth Wing Chun education systems.

During his visit to Paris, Yi Mingzhu (REAL IMAGE MEDIA), Nicolas Deschamps (REAL WORKS), and Dr. Jamshid Zolghadriha (President of the French Shaolin Wing Chun Association) reunited with Master Meng. Together, they reviewed the current progress of the Wing Chun project, discussed the next-phase development plan and international strategy. The meeting culminated in a symbolic moment, as the team posed beneath the Grande Arche in La Défense, framed by the glow of a beautiful sunset.

Recently, Mr. Qiu Jiaqiu, representing Real Image Media, and Ms. Nanhai Fen, founder in Germany of the Sino-Europe Sustainable Development Communication Center, jointly completed an investigation of and , as well as a merged discussion with representatives from . They also invited representatives from the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency to Hungary for discussions and visited the well-known Hungarian real estate investment firm, Dingfu Investment.

Conducted exchanges and learning with the Chinese Embassy in Austria, Global Neighbours, etc. in Austria. Leveraging collaborative linkages through international organization platforms, Austria has outstanding advantages in green energy, high-end manufacturing, and biomedicine. China and Austria have broad cooperation prospects in fields such as energy security, sustainable development, and technological innovation. Additionally, Austria's strategic location at the center of Europe not only helps facilitate efficient docking of China-Europe trade and logistics channels, but also promotes resource sharing and technological complementarity between the two sides in advantageous industries such as green energy and high-end manufacturing, creating more value for deepening bilateral cooperation and building a China-Europe collaborative industrial chain.

The Bangladeshi media announced Yunus' itinerary for his visit to China, and REAL IMAGE MEDIA launched the preliminary research for a documentary on topics related to Yunus in Bangladesh.
On March 6, 2025, the team of REAL IMAGE MEDIA had an in-depth exchange with Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, at the Prime Minister's official residence in Dhaka.
Professor Yunus has long been dedicated to social development and the improvement of human well - being. His outstanding contributions in the fields of poverty alleviation and inclusive finance demonstrate his extraordinary innovative spirit and unremitting pursuit of solutions, having a profound and lasting impact. The visit of the REAL IMAGE MEDIA team to Bangladesh coincided with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh. On January 19th, the memorial event for Grand Master Keith R. Kernspecht, jointly planned by Mr. Chen Liangdong, China Media Harmony, Real Image and others, was held at the headquarters of Wing Chun, a national intangible cultural heritage. Natalie Kernspecht, the daughter of Keith R. Kernspecht who came all the way from Europe, the person in charge of the European Wing Chun Association, Dr. Oliver King, the CEO of the European Wing Chun Total Organization (EWTO), Stanislav Bagalev, the founder of the Bulgarian branch of the European Wing Chun Association and the coach of the Bulgarian national martial arts team, Professor Gao Weihua from the documentary team of "Wing Chun", as well as the teams from China Media Harmony and Real Image attended the event. At the event site, guests and friends from China and Europe, including Mr. Chen Liangdong, Natalie, Dr. Oliver King, Stanislav, Professor Gao Weihua and Mr. Qiu Jiaqiu, delivered eulogies to recall the "Father of European Wing Chun". Yi Mingzhu, a partner of Real Image, Nicolas Deschamps, the founder of the French company Real Works, and others attended the event as guests.

Grand Master Keith R. Kernspecht, and shared their stories and feelings about him. They also watched a commemorative video of Master Keith made by Pan Qianyi, the creator and the filming crew of the documentary "Wing Chun" composed of China Media Harmony and Real Image. Natalie, the daughter of Keith R. Kernspecht, expressed her remembrance of her father and gratitude to the organizers of the event and the guests present. Mr. Qiu Jiaqiu, the representative of Real Image, delivered a speech to express condolences to Grand Master Keith R. Kernspecht. In the second half of the event, Natalie, Stan and others had an in - depth exchange of Wing Chun skills with the teachers and students of the Beijing Wumei Wing Chun Gym.

Fortunately, we have developed a deeper friendship with his close disciples and daughter, his closest successors. Meeting again was extremely cordial. We were happy to exchange gifts. I was also honored that Stan printed the Chinese nickname "Yidao" I shared on his business card.

Natalie is very strong. She is an international woman of the new era with amazing talent. I believe she will become a master of the next generation. She is also so lovely, amiable and emotional. When she saw the commemorative film shot by Professor Gao's team and us, and edited by Qianyi, she was moved to tears. I think it was because of the pure smiles in those memory clips, which were love beyond all boundaries.
