Vietnamese Blogger Delegation Travels Through Guangzhou and Shenzhen
A Twin-City Journey from Historical Footprints to a Smart Manufacturing Future.
From Guangzhou’s living memories of history to Shenzhen’s bright lights of technological innovation, a group of ten well-known Vietnamese online creators recently visited the two core cities of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, embarking on a dialogue that bridges time and space.
Guangzhou’s Pearl River: A Flowing Link to Shared Human Memory.
On November 23, the delegation first arrived in Guangzhou, where they visited the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Hall and the Vietnam Youth Political Training Class site. One blogger, currently studying at Tsinghua University, said she had heard of the memorial hall before coming to China, but seeing its completeness in person was “astonishing.”
As dusk settled, the bloggers boarded a river cruise, greeted by the breathtaking nightscape of the Pearl River. The neon glow of Liede Bridge and the flowing lights of the Canton Tower shimmered along the riverbank. Phones were lifted to capture the modern face of the “Millennium Commercial Capital.”
“One moment on the boat made me feel as though I had returned home — Ho Chi Minh City has a similar river cruise,” one blogger remarked.
On November 24, the delegation visited the China Import and Export Fair Complex, where they observed cutting-edge developments in the automotive industry. They also experienced futuristic mobility innovations showcased by Chinese carmakers such as XPENG and GAC, including concept models of flying cars.
During a walk through Yongqingfang — a cultural landmark known for its traditional Qilou architecture — the influencers explored the globally popular POP MART designer toys. At the red-boat-style wooden dummy stand, Li Jianhao, a third-generation disciple of Wing Chun master Ip Man from Macao, personally introduced the group of foreign “students” to the fundamentals of the Chinese martial art.
“One blogger said, “Guangzhou’s streets are full of life and warmth — its inclusiveness is woven into everyday human connections.”
Shenzhen: China’s Innovation Engine Races Toward the Future
Beginning November 25, the group visited the OPPO Shenzhen Bay Center and the Xiaomi flagship experience store, testing the latest innovations in Chinese smart manufacturing and witnessing the dynamism of China’s consumer electronics industry.
Beyond trying out cutting-edge Chinese smartphones and Xiaomi’s smart-home ecosystem, the bloggers also took to the streets for hands-on test drives of Chinese new-energy vehicles such as the Xiaomi EV.
The blend of speed and excitement created a fresh, eye-catching international scene on Shenzhen’s streets, and bloggers said they were impressed by how Chinese tech companies are building intelligent ecosystems for global users.
As the final stop of their “Bridging Vietnam and China - A Cultural Exploration Tour,” the group visited Nantou Ancient City — a historical site with over 1,700 years of heritage. In addition to landmarks such as the Paifang Archway, the South Gate, and the Xin’an County Government Office, they also discovered the Bamboo Garden designed by Vietnamese designer Võ Trọng Nghĩa.
From high-tech enterprises to centuries-old city walls, the Vietnamese blogger delegation encountered both the historical traces and the open spirit that continue to shape this emblematic city of China’s reform and opening-up. Their journey across the twin cities of the Greater Bay Area showcased its cultural richness and inclusive character — a vivid testament to a region grounded in humanistic heritage and powered by new productive forces, where history becomes tangible and the future becomes reachable.
