周群飞的故事,在这个春天最励志,最传奇。这个湖南湘乡乡村走出来的农家妹,如何经历风雨成为知名女企业家?这是一部艰辛务实的创业史,一部创新求变的奋斗史。在近日举行的湖南省创新创业先进典型巡回报告团活动上,周群飞分享了自己充满传奇色彩的奋斗故事。
Zhou Qunfei tells her history of entrepreneurship.How can Zhou Qunfei, the most encouraging and legendary peasant girl who comes from a small village in Xiangxiang, Hunan province, become the most prominent female entrepreneur in China after years of trials and hardship? That is really a tough and practical history of entrepreneurship; an innovative and changes-seeking history of struggling. Zhou Qunfei shared her experience with the public at the activity launched for the tour report of Hunan’s advanced models of innovation and entrepreneurship.

回顾我所走过的创业历程,总体来说就三个大的步骤,第一步是打工、学习;第二步是从钟表行业起步创业;第三步是转型手机行业创新发展。
My entrepreneurial history can be divided into three stages. First, working to earn a living and keeping studying; Second, starting a business in the watch industry; Third, transforming to the mobile phone industry and driving an innovational development.
我的童年非常不幸,5岁丧母,由双目失明的父亲独力养育成长。穷人的孩子早当家,上世纪80年代末,我只身前往深圳打工补贴家用。家境的贫困磨砺出了我坚韧不拔、刻苦自励、渴望成功的品格。我深知,只有不断学习才能改变命运,所以把打工的首站选在深圳大学旁,这样可以白天打工,晚上学习。工友们工余看电影、溜冰,而我除了加班就泡在图书馆,或学电脑、学会计、考报关证、学粤语……
My childhood was filled with misfortunes.My mother died when I was five,and my father who is blind in both eyes brought me up on his own.There is an old saying that poor environment breeds maturity. In the late 1980s,I went to Shenzhen alone and worked there to earn a living.The poverty breeds my characters of perseverance, painstakingness,and ambitiousness.I knew clearly that only knowledge can change one’s fate.Thus, I chose my first workplace near the Shenzhen University, which can ensureme working at daylight and studying at night. Unlike other workmates who would go to cinema or go skating in their free time, I spent all my spare time in library,studied computer skills or accounting knowledge, prepared for customs declarer certificate, and learned Cantonese,etc.
1990年,时任厂长离职,出资人打算放弃在宝安筹建了一半的工厂,我知道情况后毛遂自荐,希望老板能给我机会试试:“成了,工资随你定;失败了,我打工还你!”老板被我的勇气和决心打动了。就这样,不足20岁的我,成为了全厂负责人,从建厂房、布产线、消防验收、海关备案、报关,企业运作的每个环节我都要亲力亲为,终于做成拥有300多员工的正规工厂,业绩也超过老厂好多倍。然而好景不长,也许是业绩太好,我受到其他厂区同事的嫉妒与排挤,无奈选择离开。我辞职后,厂里很多员工也因是我的老部下或同乡而遭清退,并限令他们即时离开,后来听说他们无处栖身,在工地上睡了几个星期。当时我在行业已小有名气,几家同行都想请我加入,我的堂姐跟我说:“你去帮谁都是打工,仍有可能遇到这样的经历,还不如你自己做,我们跟着你,有钱了再给我们发工资。”
In 1990, the then factory director left office and the sponsor intended to give up the half-built factory in Baoan. After knowing that, I recommended myself to the sponsor and wished that he could let me have a try. I told him, “If I succeed, you can pay me as you like; If I fail, I will work for you to repay the money you have invested.” The sponsor was moved by my courage and firmness. So,20 years old as I was, I became the factory director. During that period, I, in person,checked on every link of the business operation, including plant building,production lines setting, fire protection checking, customs registration and customs clearance. Finally, the plant was expanded into a regular one with more than 300 employees, and its performance far exceeded that of other old plants. However, good times don’t last long. It might be my good performance that landed me in an unfavorable position. I was hated by the workmates from other districts of the plant. Finally, I had no choice but to leave. After my resignation, many employees who are my fellow townsman or subordinates were fired. And I heard that they had no place to go and stayed at building site for weeks. At that time, I had already earned myself some reputation in the industry, and several peer companies wanted me to join them. While my elder female cousin told me, “Whoever you are going to help is just another boss to you. The same things may happen again. Why not just start up your own business, and we follow you? You can pay us when you have enough money.”
正是有了她的鼓励,而我骨子里也希望自己能当家做主,于是毅然选择了创业。
It is her encouragement and my ambition of being the master of my own business that chooses me an entrepreneurial road.
1993年,我成立恒生玻璃表面厂做钟表玻璃加工。8个亲戚、租来一套3室1厅的民房和我打工攒下的两万多元港币,就是当时工厂的所有。由于资金、技术、设备的限制,我们只能帮同行做些丝网印刷赚取加工费用,后来又买了台废旧镀膜机,整修后加工镀膜,就这样坚持了四年。1997年金融危机后,一些客户付不起加工费,就用废旧设备折抵,瘦弱的我带着年仅几岁的女儿跑香港买零部件,一袋袋地背回来,对这些旧设备进行翻新改造。每次回来,双肩都被沉甸甸的零部件压出两条深深的痕迹。女儿特别懂事,记得有一次在旺角街边等红绿灯的时候,我突然发现我的背轻了,我以为袋子破了,回头一看,女儿竟用小小的双手用力地帮我托举背包。那一刻,让我感动至今,我觉得什么都值了!在我最艰难的时候,是家人、亲友给我鼓励和陪伴,我发誓一定要努力改变现状,让家人过上更好的生活!
In 1993, I established the Hengsheng Glass Clockface Plant which works on the glass working of clock. That eight relatives of mine, a rented three-bedroom house,and my 20,000 HKD savings was all the capital we have. In the very eginning, due to the limits on fund, technology and equipment, we could only earn some processing charges by doing silk-screen printing for men of the same trade. Later, we bought a waste coating machine and repaired it, then we were busy with the coating processing. For four years we had been doing this. In 1997, the financial crisis broke out. Some clients could not afford the processing fees and they decided to commute with waste equipment. Hence, I took my daughter who was only a few years old to HongKong to buy machinery parts, and renovated them when we came back. Every time when we return, the dark imprints left by the heavy bags can be found on my shoulders. Luckily, I have a sensible daughter. I can clearly remember that once I suddenly felt less pressure on my back when I was waiting for the green light in Mong Kok. At the very start, I thought my bag might be broken, then I looked back and found my little girl was lifting my bags with her small hands. Until today, I still feel touched when I recall that moment and think everything I have undergone worth it. It is the encouragement and companionship from my family and my friends that help me through the hardest time. I sware I would endeavor to change the situation and brought them a better life.
通过设备改造和工艺完善,我们逐渐扩大了工厂规模,开始在行业内崭露头角,但又受到竞争对手对原材料的垄断和恶意的价格竞争。为了谋求发展,我将手表玻璃成功应用到手机上,由此开创了手机保护屏告别有机玻璃的新时代。为了引导客户多设计、使用玻璃材质保护屏,我亲自定义了产品设计指引,产品加工极限、产品质量标准等相关产品常识,并到处向客户宣导玻璃材质抗摔、耐划伤、高透光率等优势。
Through equipment modification and technology improvement, we gradually expand our plant scale and stand out conspicuously in the industry, but on the other hand, we have to face the monopoly and malicious price competition for raw materials by competitors. In order to seek development, I apply watch glass to mobile phones successfully and create a new era for mobile phone protection screen, saying goodbye to organic glass. I personally define product design guidelines, the ultimate product processing, product quality standards and relevant products common knowledge, and promote to customers the advantages of the glass such as anti-throw, scratch resistance, high light transmittance and so on.
第一家使用玻璃镜片的品牌是TCL,由于当时我的企业规模小,注册资金达不到客户供应商资格,只能通过代理商进行合作,后来国内其它品牌也都是通过这种方式,因此很多货款被代理商拖欠或者赖帐,造成多次资金链断裂,为了能准时发放工资,我只能将房产低价卖掉,因为我不能辜负员工们对我的信任,他们都是家中的经济支柱,作为他们的老板,就必须对他们负责,当年如此,现在对我的9万员工也是如此,故我创业至今,团队成员才会对我不离不弃。
TCL is the first brand using glass lenses. At that time, we can only cooperate with agents, so do other domestic brands afterwards because our corporate scale is small and registered capital can not meet customer supplier qualification, Therefore, there are lot of loans agents default, which leads to capital chain rupture many times. In order to pay my employees on time,I have to sell my house property at a low price,for I can’t live up to their trust.They are all the most important economical source of their families and I should be responsible for them as a boss. This is the reason my team members have been always with me since I have started my business.
为了不再受制于代理商,2003年,我创办了蓝思科技,将业务重心也转移到电子信息行业。为什么叫蓝思?习总书记也问过我这个问题。这既是镜片单词“lens”的音译,也是方便客户网上搜索蓝思。2003年,国内手机品牌已相继成为了我的客户,国际品牌也开始联系我。2004年,摩托罗拉的副总裁找到我,因为我有他们所需的强化、镀膜、丝印等技术。但当时我的工厂规模不大,资金也紧张,最担心的是管理水平无法对接国际企业,我不敢答应,但对方却只允许我说“Yes”或“NO”,其它事项他们负责,但要我100%的产能给他。记得2003年,摩托有个工程师问了我一个问题:“你把玻璃应用到手机上,如果这产品破了,玻璃割到我们的总统、割到哪个明星,你们赔得起吗?”我在技术创新上是绝不认输的,我凭着多年一线生产的经验,带着同事蹲守在六七十度高温的车间,反复调试温度、时间等相关参数,经过三天三夜不断试验,终于通过离子交换法,成功突破提高玻璃韧性这一技术上的难关,达到了他们跌落测试的所有要求。我们的技术创新能力和务实求真的工作态度赢得了客户的高度信任,也成就了当年红极一时的摩托罗拉V3手机,为蓝思后来与众多国际品牌的合作开辟出了崭新的道路。
I founded the Lens Technology Co. Ltd. to not be restricted by agents in 2003,and our business center was transferred to the electronic information industry.“Why called Lansi?” general secretary Xi asked me once, it is not only the
transliteration of “lens”,but also convenient for clients to search on the Internet.In 2003, the domestic mobile phone brands has become my customers successively, and international brands are also beginning to contact me.In 2004, vice President of MOTOROLA came to me for my technology such as reinforcement, coating, screen printing. However, at that time, I was afraid of promising because of my small factory scale and financial strain, the most concern was our management standard is unable to achieve international standard, but he said I only need to say “yes” or “no”, they will charge other matters if I provide 100% capacity. A question was occurred to me by an engineer of MOTOROLA, “You applied glass to phones, will you pay for it if the glass is broken and cuts our president or any star?” I will never give up on technology innovation, with years of first line production experience, I stayed in the workshop with 60 degrees of high temperature together with my colleagues, repeatedly debugging relevant parameters such as temperature and time, after three days and three nights, ion exchange method was finally passed and successful breakthrough was made to improve toughness of glass on technology and reached their all requirements for test.Our technical innovation capability and generally pragmatic working attitude won the high trust from customers, which also made the popularity of the MOTOROLA V3 phone, opening a new way to cooperate with many international brands .
然而V3的畅销也给我带来了危机,竞争对手因技术瓶颈接不到摩托罗拉的订单,就联合日本供应商及香港代理商断掉蓝思的原材料供应,预收了货款却不发货,企图让蓝思陷入巨额订单违约的困境。被供应商残酷断料的那一刻,站在红磡地铁站的月台上,要强的我心如刀绞,想想自己苦熬了十几年的成果就要毁于一旦,一瞬间的绝望,真想跳下月台一了百了。
On the other hand, the best-selling of V3 also brought me crisis. Competitors couldn’t get orders from MOTOROLA because of technological bottleneck. Then they stopped raw material supply to us with Japanese suppliers and Hong Kong agents together, they received payments in advance but not delivering goods, attempting to bring Lens Technology Co. Ltd. into plight of contract breach of huge orders. At that moment, I was despaired and really wanted to get jumped off the Hong Kan platform when was aware that my years’ achievements would be destroyed completely.
也许是心灵感应吧,女儿稚嫩的声音来自电话那头,“妈咪,你什么时候才回家吃饭呀?”使我突然想起了自己作为一个母亲、一个老板、一个供应商应尽的责任和义务。我马上跳上回深圳工厂的火车,连夜向客户发出了冠名为“LS119”的求救邮件,客户担心因我们断料而影响他们已经火爆的销售,帮我快速安排了新的替代原材料认证,让我很快恢复了生产,从而化解了这一危机,生死存亡关头,是客户给了我们重生的机会。
Perhaps there was a telepathy. When my daughter’s tender voice came from the phone, "Mommy, when will you come home to eat ?" it suddenly came to my mind that the duty and obligation as a mother, a boss, a supplier. I immediately took the train back to Shenzhen factory, sent a title of "LS119" help messages to clients. Clients worried about the stock out will impact their hot sales, and helped me quickly to arrange a new alternative raw material certification. We instantly resumed production, thereby defused this crisis. A moment of life and death, it is the clients who saved us.
随着摩托罗拉V3的全球热卖,蓝思在全球的行业地位、知名度也越来越高,三星、诺基亚、夏普、索尼、LG、亚马逊各国际品牌都主动找蓝思合作。2005年成功进入三星(DVD、MP3播放器);2006年成为诺基亚的供应商,随后夏普、索尼等日系品牌也都相继成了蓝思客户;2007年,我们成为国际品牌首款智能手机的供应商,公司从此进入高速发展期。作为行业领头者,蓝思共享了很多专有技术、加工设备、新型材料给同行业,希望藉此快速带动行业发展及产品应用领域。随着客户多元化,蓝思除了自主研发后向客户推销,也协同客户研发,这样可以预知行业未来发展方向,吸引并稳固与国际品牌的合作。

In 2005 Lens Technology successfully entered the Samsung (DVD, MP3 player); In 2006 the company became Nokia's supplier, followed by Sharp, Sony and other Japanese brands successively became clients; In 2007, we became the first international brand of smart phones supply provider, the company came to a rapid development period.As an industry leader, the company shares a lot of proprietary technology,processing equipment, new materials, hoping to drive the rapid development of the industry and product applications. For customer diversification, Lens Technology not only sells to the customer after the independent research and development, but also has coordinated research with clients. So can we predict the future direction of the industry, attract and secure cooperation with international brands.
2006年,手机市场骤然兴起,国内外各大品牌的订单让我们的产能越来越紧张,我们必须抓紧扩充产能。当时很多省份都希望我可以去投资,但我第一个想到的是我的家乡。一方面我要实现我父亲的遗愿,他希望我有朝一日能够回乡帮助那些曾经有恩于我们的人;另一方面家乡的创业环境、各级政府的热忱,让我觉得回湖南发展定能成就一番事业。2008年我们正式投资浏阳,冰冻灾害和金融风暴让我们遭遇了许多额外的艰辛和压力,而我又刚有了第二个孩子需要照顾,也曾想过就此放弃,是省、市、园区各级领导给予了我大力支持和帮助,让我坚定信心度过了难关。饮水要思源,知恩要图报!我们唯有用产业发展回报家乡厚爱。截止到去年,蓝思科技已在湖南建成投产5个研发生产基地,提供了9万个就业岗位,年产值300多亿元,年利税达45亿元。
In 2006, as the sudden rise of the mobile phone market, domestic and international orders tensed our production capacity, we must pay close attention to the expansion of production capacity. At that time many provinces invited me to invest, but my first thought was my hometown. On the one hand I wanted to realize my father's last wishes, he wanted me to return home to repay those who gave kindness to us; On the other hand, it was the hometown business environment and enthusiasm of government that offered me confidence to succeed in Hunan. In 2008, we formally invested Liuyang, but freezing disaster and the financial crisis that we encountered caused additional hardships and pressure, and I just had a second child. I used to have the thought to give up, it was the all level of leadership gave me great support , helped me get through that hard time. Everyone should know how to show gratitude. We could only repay home with the development of industry. By the last year, Lens Technology had completed 5 R & D bases in Hunan, providing 90,000 jobs, the annual output value of over 300 billion Yuan and taxes up to 4.5 billion Yuan.

今年3月18日,蓝思科技成功上市,并得到市场高度认可,但上市不是终极目标,相对于外界给我的赞誉、谣言和纸面上的财富数字,我们更看重的是能够借助资本市场这个大平台成就一个更大、更新的产业,更加相信谣言止于智者。我的成长是一部艰辛务实的创业史,蓝思科技的成长是一部创新求变的奋斗史,一路走来,感谢各界对我们的关注和鞭策。
On March 18, 2015, Lens Technology had been successfully listed, and acquired high market approbation, but the listing is not the ultimate goal. With respect to the outside praise, rumors and wealth, we pay more attention to rely on the capital market, a big platform, to achieve a larger, newer industry. Rumors get stopped by the wise. My grow-up is a hard pragmatic undertaking history, Lens technology’s grow-up is a history of innovation , transformation and struggling. From the beginning to now, thanks to all the attention and encouragement.
作为一名女企业家,我要兼顾好每一个角色。其实昨天是我儿子的生日。生下他45天后,我便来到了浏阳,7年来从来没有陪他吹过一次蜡烛,作为一个母亲,我感到欠我的家人实在是太多太多。我们蓝思,走的是艰苦辛酸的创业路,做的是自主创新的实事,圆的是民族工业不断发展壮大的“中国梦”。很多人曾问我:“为什么成功的是周群飞?为什么蓝思科技能成功”?我的答案是:第一“坚持就是胜利”!不管创业路上多苦多累;不管竞争环境有多恶劣;不管技术难题有多渺茫,只要坚持就一定可以成功,曾经有一个产品做了3个月才只做到0.14%的良率,但因为我们的坚持不懈,现在已经超出了客户的良率目标。记得有一次我带同事去大围山爬山,有的同事爬到一半时跟我说:老板,别爬了,很累。我平时根本没有时间锻炼,也有点hold不住了,但我跟他们说,今天我们已经爬到了半山腰,我们这个时候选择下山而不是上山,我不相信你们还有勇气再来爬一次。所以,我的团队全部跟我爬上了山顶。
As a female entrepreneur, I need to deal with every aspect of my life. In fact, yesterday was my son's birthday. One and a half months after his birth, I went to Liuyang, I never spend a single birthday with him during seven years,as a mother, I owe my family too much. Lens experienced hard pioneering days, focus on self-innovation and help to complete the Chinese dream of national industry’s growth. Many people asked Why Zhou Qunfei can success? How Lens get this far? My answer is that firstly persistence is victory. No matter how hard the pioneering days are, how worse competitive environment is and how difficult technical problems are, persistence will be successful. Once we had done a product for 3 months and only got 0.14% yield. But now we have exceeded the target yield, because of our persistence. I remembered I took our colleagues to climb Daweishan. On the halfway, some colleagues told me to rest, because I have no time to do exercise and I feel very tired. But I told them that if we had chosen down to the mountain right now, we would have had no courage to climb the mountain again. At last, my whole team reached the mountaintop.
第二“创新才有出路”。无论是个人打工、还是企业发展阶段,如果没有创新,我们就不可能获得并抓住商机。当年在钟表行业竞争如此激烈,如果不创新就不可能有今天这个产业;如果我们都安于现状,不思进取,就不可能有今天的蓝思。持续创新是蓝思从传统制造业向高科技产业成功转型的关键,也是我们未来继续引领行业的保证。
Second, innovation is a way out. Whether we work for ourselves or enterprise is developing, we can’t seize opportunities without innovation. Competition in watch industry is so fierce, if no innovation, the industry would not be at the
stage; if we accept statue quo, it is impossible to have today’s Lens. Constant innovation is the key point for Lens to transitions from traditional manufacturing towards hi-tech industry. It also ensures we lead the industry in the future.
第三“居安也要思危”。面对瞬息万变的电子信息行业,我们永远不能有吃老本的心态,必须确保技术、产能、品质、价格、服务永远处于行业领先地位,时刻准备应对技术革新和行业的复杂多变。
Third, living dangerously. In the face of a changing electronic information industry, we should not rest on our past laurels ,make sure the technology, capacity, quality, price, service is always in the industry leading position, and ready to respond to technology innovation and changeable industry.
第四“化危机为生机”。面对日新月异的消费电子产业,尽管面临众多竞争和挑战,蓝思永远是越挫越勇:因为原材料被垄断,我们和客户及美国康宁共同开发了“大猩猩”玻璃;因为有人高价抢走了手动仿形机,蓝思开发出了全自动玻璃精雕机;因为油墨垄断,我成功研发出了当今手机行业的丝印油墨新配方,并与同行共享;因为手动离子交换炉供应商与蓝思的合作受到人为阻碍,蓝思开发出了全自动离子交换机。“研发创新必须坚持,困难面前永不妥协”,这是我们蓝思人的态度和精神。确保技术领先,振兴民族工业,是我们所有蓝思人的责任与使命。
Fourth, turning crisis into opportunity. In the face of development of consumer electronics industry, fierce competition and challenges, Lens become better and better. Because raw materials was monopolized, we, our customers and Corning jointly developed Gorilla Glass; because manual copying machine was got off with high price, Lens developed automatic glass engraving machine; because of ink monopoly, Lens successfully developed a new recipe of new silk screen printing ink and share with counterparts. Because the cooperation with manual ion exchange furnace suppliers was hindered by someone, Lens developed automatic ion exchanger. Insist on innovation, never compromise with difficulties. This is the spirit and attitude of Lens. Ensure the leading technology, revitalize national industry. This is the responsibility and mission of Lens.
在开头的时候,我说过我身世的不幸;但在分享结束的时候,我想说,其实我也是一个非常幸运的人,因为我遇到了“催人奋进的伟大时代”。所以我将继续扎根家乡,继续创新创业,把蓝思科技做得更大更强。我也希望通过分享我的经历,吸引和带动更多的人参与创业,一起为实现“中国梦”贡献我们的力量。
In the beginning, I said I had an unfortunate life experience. But at the end of this share, I would say, in fact, I was a very lucky person, because I encountered a " great inspiration age." So I will continue to take root in hometown, continue to push Lens Technology stronger and bigger. By sharing my experiences, I also hope to attract and encourage more people to participate in the venture, make our contribution together for the realization of "Chinese Dream".
