Eight light-minutes is the distance between the Sun and the Earth. Founded in 2016 by a small group of editors and hardcore sci-fi lovers, like the sunlight nurturing life on earth, we aim to make science fiction the light of everyday life.

Attending Finncon 2026 virtually! ✨

Huge thanks to three passionate sci-fi fans: Gao Weiming(高玮明), Xia Zijian(夏子健), and Meng Xiangpeng(孟祥鹏). During Finncon, which took place from July 10th to 12th at the University of Turku, Finland, they helped present featured recommendations for our projects, China Cthulhu and Galaxy’s Edge: Story Exchange Program, at their fan booth.

We warmly welcome any interested organizations or professionals to contact us for potential collaboration!

Bonus tracking: On their return flight, they also ran into Adrian Tchaikovsky, the Guest of Honor at this year’s Finncon! The Chinese edition sample books of the Children of Time series we sent to Adrian are currently in the UK, awaiting his return. 🕷️

🚀 HUGE NEWS! Sci-fi mystery author LUO XIA has officially broken into the ultimate holy grail of crime fiction—Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine (EQMM)! 🏆✨

His acclaimed sci-fi locked-room short story, The Locked Room Murder on Pluto(冥王星密室杀人事件), is featured in the latest issue!

For mystery nerds, EQMM is THE pinnacle. Founded in 1941, only THREE Chinese-language authors had ever made the cut before. Now, Luo Xia becomes the historic FOURTH!!! 🎉
