Hi everyone.👋🏻
-My name is Nadja and I’m an AuPair in China. Can you believe it?! Because for me this still feels like a little dream.✨
-I always wanted to go abroad and experience different places. Being an AuPair gave me the opportunity to be a local in Hangzhou 杭州 one of the major cities in China. It’s also called the Silicon Valley of China. Here I watch over 3 totally sweet boys.
-What first seemed like a scary step, to go to a different country, living with a family that I don’t know, being immersed in a totally different culture, is now a part of my life that I don’t want to miss. I already learned so much and I’m more then excited about the steps that will follow. 🤭
-Being an AuPair shows me how much there is to this world that I don't know of yet. It gave me the chance to meet people I would have never met otherwise.
-So from now on I will take you along on my journey. From working hours, learning to understand and speak mandarin to meeting new people. Be prepared to get a glimpse of my life right now as an AuPair in China.☺️

A Farewell on "Light Snow" ❄️

Nine months ago, she arrived with her suitcase full of dreams. On November 22, 2025, she leaves with a heart full of memories —on the very day of the"Xiǎoxuě" or Light Snow solar term in China.

This day marks the time when the weather turns colder and the first snow begins to dust the north. It’s a season of storing away the harvest, a quiet conclusion to a cycle of growth.

And what a beautiful harvest this has been.✨ From a guest to a cherished jiějie (big sister), she has woven herself into the fabric of her host family's life. Every shared laugh, every English lesson, and every adventure explored together has become a treasured memory, stored away for warmth in the years to come.

Though we say goodbye as the cold descends, the bond forged here is a constant spring. This isn't an end—it's the beginning of a lifelong connection across oceans.

We are immeasurably proud of you. The world awaits your next adventure! 🌎❤️

Reincarnated in the Forbidden City: My Qing Dynasty Glow-Up👑

They said being an au pair was an adventure. They didn't tell me I'd be stepping into the pages of a C-drama!

Behold: my latest chapter, where I trade my jeans for the luxurious silks of a Manchu noblewoman. As the robes were fastened, I felt my modern self fade away, replaced by a royal consort known for her sharp wit and... impeccable ability to manage the imperial household-or in my case, help with English grammar XD

Surviving palace politics? Easy. Keeping a straight face while the kids giggled at my transformation? Now that was the real challenge. 😂

12 years ago, a bright young student from UK named Hannah arrived in Beijing—nervous, excited, and ready to become part of a new family. Little did she know she wasn’t just becoming an au pair… she was gaining a second home.

Now, all these years later, look at them! The same smiles, the same love—only deeper, stronger, and even more heartfelt. 🥰

When her host siblings traveled to London, they didn’t just “meet up.” They reunited like no time had passed at all—laughing, reminiscing, and even recreating one of their most cherished photos from all those years ago.📷

We’re so honored that LoPair could play a small part in Hannah’s journey—from au pair, to intern, to forever family member.

Here’s to bonds that time and distance can’t fade… and to love that only grows. ❤️

Red is the luckiest colour in Chinese culture, representing good fortune, joy, celebration, and prosperity. You’ll see red everywhere, from the flag 🇨🇳 to red envelopes🧧 and especially at Chinese New Year🏮
If you head to New Year celebrations, you’ll see almost everyone wearing red to mark the occasion and to attract good spirits and ward off evil.

On your Zodiac year (looking at you, snakes🐍) you are supposed to wear red every day – many Chinese will wear red accessories and underwear every day to ward off evil spirits. You can expect to receive red-coloured gifts during your Zodiac year.
