One of the most adorable residents of the Siberian forests is the Amur Forest Cat.
This elusive feline is a subspecies of the leopard cat.

Although its behavior is somewhat similar to that of domestic cats, its wild instincts dominate—making it impossible to domesticate.

The Amur Forest Cat lives a highly secretive life. Even today, scientists still do not know its exact population size, earning it the nickname “the Red Book Mystery.”

It inhabits the Amur River basin and coastal regions, and every photograph captured of this rare cat is considered a true treasure.

With the Canon R52, I captured moments like this.

I recently got my hands on the highly anticipated Canon R52, and naturally, I took it straight into the wild to photograph birds in their natural habitat. Thanks to the R52’s deep-learning–based intelligent autofocus system, the camera can accurately lock onto a bird’s eyes even in complex and cluttered backgrounds.

With high-speed continuous shooting of up to approximately 30 frames per second, combined with the pre-shooting feature, I was able to capture decisive moments effortlessly—especially during sudden takeoffs and fast mid-air movements. This camera truly makes wildlife photography more intuitive, responsive, and rewarding.

Moments like these remind me why I love photography: being present, patient, and ready when nature reveals its magic.
