I have read quite a few horror manga but Zashiki Onna 座敷女 is definitely the creepiest I have ever owned.
Published in 1993 in just one volume, it tells the story of a student called Hiroshi. One night, he notices a strange woman at the door of his neighbor who has been missing for several days.
The woman appears to be particularly tall, with unkept long hair and a long gray coat, holding a few handbags in both hands. Her appearance is so scruffy and uncanny to the point of being unsettling.
After a brief talk with her, Hiroshi heads back to his room dismissing the weird incident as a one time encounter. But when the woman decides to stalk him, his life and his freinds' will be soon turned into a nightmare...
