The Ceremony for Meng Fanhao’s Appointment to the Luke Him Sau Educational Foundation Chair Professor Successfully Held
On September 8, 2024, the appointment ceremony for Professor Meng Fanhao to the Luke Him Sau Educational Foundation Chair Professor was successfully held in the Zhongting Lecture Hall of Building B at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University.
Attendees at the ceremony included Wang Zhendong, Party Secretary, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University; Zhang Peng, Vice Dean, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University; Meng Fanhao, co-founder and principal architect of line+ Architectural Design Firm; Zhu Peidong, co-founder and principal architect of line+ Architectural Design Firm; Isa Ye, founder of YoungBird and designverse; along with other guests and students of the new generation from Tongji University.
On the same day, the exhibition "Order Amidst Contradiction: The Sixth Anniversary Exhibition of line+ Works · Shanghai" officially opened at Tongji University. Special guests for the opening ceremony and academic forum included Chang Qing, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University; Li Xiangning, Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University; Wang Zhendong, Party Secretary and Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University; Zhang Peng, Vice Dean and Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University, who all delivered speeches at the exhibition opening. Other notable guests included Huang Yiru, Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University; Ren Lizhi, Vice President and Chief Architect of Tongji University Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd.; Wilfried Wang, Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University; Zhang Bin, Founder and Principal Architect of Atelier Z+; Zhang Lei, Co-founder and Principal Architect of AZL Architects; and Zhuang Shen, Principal Architect and Founding Partner of Atelier Archmixing (listed in alphabetical order by surname). Assistant Professor Mo Wanli of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University, served as the academic moderator. Manuela Lucá-Dazio, Executive Chair of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, was also in attendance. Other distinguished guests included Zhi Wenjun, Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University; Li Linxue, Dean of the College of Media and Arts, Tongji University; and Isa Ye, founder of YoungBird and designverse, who joined in witnessing the event and engaged in in-depth discussions with Meng Fanhao and Zhu Peidong, co-founders and principal architects of line+.
