Dear Haosters,

It’s with heavy hearts that we’ve decided to shut down our site effective immediately. Our full-time jobs, personal lives, and other extenuating circumstances no longer allow us to provide the amount of content you deserve as readers, nor the quality of story we’ve come to expect from ourselves as writers.

We guess you could say it’s the end of our quest line.

All of us will remain active members of the gaming industry in our home countries, so you may still catch us promoting new SEA titles, developing our own games both Triple-A and indie, cosplaying as your favorite NPC, or talking about some random facet of game development in far more depth than you’re interested in knowing. All of our archives will remain online, so if you miss us as much as we’ll miss you, you can always look back fondly.

We want to thank you for three years of reading our stories, for letting us share news about hidden gems and untapped markets across the globe, for discussing all of the good, the bad, and the ugly in the world of gaming. We never did any of this for ourselves, and we definitely didn't do it for the money (there wasn't any); we only wrote because we love games, we love devs, and we love the community. We wanted to give a voice to developers who too often go unheard; thank you for listening to them. Without you, we would have never made it this far. Thank you for being a reader, and thank you for caring about our little site.

As Chris would say, until next time, be good and do great things.

With much love and eternal gratitude,

The Haogamers Team

Internet addiction "rehab centers" are dangerous. They're also supposed to be illegal in China. A teenager recently died at one such facility. We wrote this article two years ago about the documentary "Web Ju**ie," and we are saddened to say it is as relevant today as it was then.
