Discom

Discom Record label and shop. Rare and unknown Yugoslavian music. Yugo parties on reel to reel and turntables.

Discom is an independent record label, distribution and mail order with a mission to promote lesser-known music from the former Yugoslavia. Our goal is to give some quality unreleased or hard to find Yugoslavian music a second chance and present it to the international public. We serve artists in the field of record production (artwork, vinyl pressing), audio production (mixing, mastering), video

production, promotion (on line campaigns, advertising, DJ promotion, radio promotion, music criticism), distribution, retail, content protection and licensing striving for high professional and aesthetic standards. Royalties we offer to artists are among the highest in industry (we share profit 50%, 50% for every record we sale, including direct sale). Large network of associates, suppliers, distributors and stores enables quick sale and make us one of the most attractive record labels in this part of Europe. All our releases we press in Pallas record plant in Germany, one of the oldest in the world, providing an excellent quality of vinyl. We started our work with Boban Petrovic-Zora LP under Disco Not Disco label. This reissue took 1 st place on Juno Records Best Seller List for two weeks in July 2014, leaving behind more than 30 000 titles. Our releases that came after Max Vincent-The Future Has Designed Us LP and Sizike-U Zemlji Cuda With Lost DATA Tracks LP also met warm reception by audience and critics worldwide. On November 25, 2016 we issued Yugoslavian Space Program-the first ever electronic space music themed record from former Yugoslavia! In 2017, we released 37°C-Sidarta LP-absolutely unknown ex yu ambient jazz fusion gem, and DATA-Could You Find Your Analog Mind? LP- the first ever remixes and original synth pop songs made under the influence of Yellow Magic Orchestra and Logic System in the former Yugoslavia. In 2018, we issued 2 archival releases which contain previously unpublished material: Max Vincent-Beograd LP, a conceptual synth album and Consequential-MicroComposed 1980-86 LP, a compilation of earliest Belgrade's electronica with italo-disco feeling. In addition, we launched our new branded merchandise: Discom tees and bags and we opened Discom distribution with 4 new Yugoslavian archival gems. That year Discom was the first ever label from this part of Europe who participated in the world's largest independent record fair: Independent Label Market in Brussels April 7-8. In 2019, we introduced Du Du A-Du Du Archive 1984-1989 LP and Sizike-Night Club 1985-86 LP, a rare and previously unpublished material by two cult groups from the 80's, while our distribution introduced 5 new Yugoslavian archival releases. Thanks to our partners Duophonic GmbH we started to produce records as "climate neutral" project. Climate-neutral means that the CO2 emissions generated vinyl manufacturing are calculated and compensated by investing in a climate protection projects such as sustainable forest management, industrial pollution management, and water source protection. In 2020, due COVID-19 pandemic, we have paused our releasing activities, however we have presented 10 new ex yu titles from our distribution. Our label exists solely thanks to people who buy our releases and we will continue to bring you new musical treasures in the future, striving for the highest ethical principles of responsibility. [44,100Hz Social Club PREMIERE-Beograd-1984]

With a mission to promote overlooked music from the former Yugoslavia, Belgrade's independent label Discom presents to you track 1984 by group Beograd Grupa Beograd named after George Orwell's seminal novel. This piece was recorded in a single night in the same year, featuring Zoran Zagorcic (Du Du A) and one of the first Yamaha DX7 synthesizers. It encapsulates the dark and tense atmosphere of Belgrade during a period marked by economic crisis, characterized by shortages of essential products like coffee and oil, as well as electricity restrictions.

Nakon hvaljenog albuma Bar Mediterraneo, Massimo Di Lena i Lucio Aquilina vraćaju se s albumom People Of The Moon, proširujući svoj zvuk u prostor kreativne slobode.

Gabriel Pradov „Ondas Do Mar“ poentira tu privlačnost: ciklično kretanje, poput plime i oseke - neodoljivo, transformativno i živo u nama.

Spisak pesama:

A1 Acelera (ft. María José Llergo)

A2 Onenon (ft. Tom Misch)

A3 Puleza (ft. Fabiana Martone)

A4 Celavi (ft. María José Llergo)

A5 Carè

B1 People of the Moon

B2 Ma tu che bbuò

B3 Sciallà

B4 Shway shway (ft. Celinatique)

B5 Ondas do mar (ft. Gabriel Prado)

🇯🇲The album "Bus to Zion" brings 8 cult songs by Yu Grupa, recorded in new reggae arrangements, which in an original way brings together two distant, but very close in spirit countries - Serbia and Jamaica.

🎙️ It is an anthology release and that it is not just a reinterpretation of songs, but a new reading of one's own musical heritage through an authentic reggae groove and Jamaican mystique. The new album was released in a limited series of 500 copies, each of which is numbered and contains an LP with eight songs and a maxi single, and all records are signed by members of Yu Grupa
