...Luba had been lying with her eyes closed for hours now, clutching Alexei's cold hand tightly. She wanted so much to look at him, to admire his profile once again and to touch his perfect, pumped-up body, which until recently belonged only to her, but she was afraid, and the harder and colder his hand became, the stronger this fear was.
The phone call brought me out of my stupor, I had to open my eyes, toss aside the blanket and pick up the phone.
"F**k...," she wheezed, seeing that she was sitting on the bed naked.
"I don't get it, Lyubov Viktorovna," came the perplexed voice of the administrator on the other side of the wire.
"I'm not talking to you, Andriusha," she said, changing her tone. "Good morning, I'm already awake. Do we have everything according to plan?"
"Good morning. Yes, it's the evening shift. Lena expects you for makeup at 7:30."
"I see," she paused, casting a glance at Alexei lying on the other side of the bed, "I have another request."
"Any whim Lyubov Viktorovna."
"Book me on the morning flight tomorrow. I want to stay home for a couple days. I have a break in filming, don't I?"
"Let me see. Yes, I do. I'll be sure to order it. What else?"
"Give me the car for an hour and a half, I want to go shopping."
"No problem, come on down, I'll tell the driver to pull up to the main entrance."
She returned to the hotel with two huge branded bags, and quickly, trying not to be seen by anyone, went up to her room, put a 'do not disturb' sign on the door, and emptied the contents of the bags onto the couch. She tossed the dress and some other small items of clothing aside, found some rubber kitchen gloves, and pulled them over her hands.
"You're so heavy, bitch," Luba whispered angrily, pushing the almost petrified body off the bed, which crashed to the floor with a nasty sound.
It was even harder to get him into the bathtub, the liter of tequila she'd drunk last night, but she wasn't one to give up. Having coped, she looked at the clock, it was still six hours before the shooting started. Luba left the bathroom and returned a minute later, holding a small saw with a gleaming blade that easily bit into Alexei's lifelessly dangling arm. Luba covered her eyes with the palm of her hand, fearing that the blood would gush like in the movies, but instead, a viscous, almost black substance slowly flowed out of the cut and crawled down the snow-white surface of the tub.
By noon, angry, wet with sweat and smelling of her own vomit, she packed the last piece of dismembered body into a garbage bag, wrapped it with duct tape, and placed it in another bag for safekeeping. Counted. There were thirteen.
"He spat, and kicked the bag closest to her, which burst open, revealing a palm with blue fingers spread out. On the ring finger glittered a thin gold ring, a recent gift from her. She bent down and tried to pull it off, but the ring cut into the dead flesh. No saw was needed, the knife was enough."
After washing the ring under the hot water, Lyuba pushed the finger fragments into the bag and taped the hole. With difficulty, but she managed to fit everything into her two suitcases, and the hotel robe, almost black with blood, went there as well.
"So much for love, my darling," she exhaled with relief....
