POLICE LAUNCH MASSIVE MANHUNT AFTER TWO MEN SHOT DEAD IN MASISI POLICING AREA, VHEMBE DISTRICT*

POLOKWANE* – The Police in Limpopo have launched a massive manhunt after two men, aged 30 and 28, were gunned down at Ha-Rangani Village in the Masisi policing area, Vhembe District, earlier this morning, 17 August 2025.

Police responded to a complaint at about 07:30 and, upon arrival, discovered a white Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD abandoned in the bush next to a gravel road. Inside the vehicle, a man was found seated in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds. The second victim was found nearby, also fatally wounded with several gunshots.

Both victims are Zimbabwean nationals originally from Bulawayo, with one residing at Musina Location and the other at Ha-Rangani Village. At the crime scene, police recovered live ammunition, several spent cartridges, and one of the deceased’s cellphones.

A case of two counts of murder has been opened at Masisi Police Station, and the matter has since been referred to the Provincial Organised Crime Unit for further investigation.

Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has assured the public that resources have been mobilised to track down the suspects.

MANHUNT LAUNCHED AFTER A 38-YEAR-OLD MOTORIST SHOT AND KILLED BY UNKNOWN SUSPECTS ALONG N1 SOUTH IN MAKHADO*

POLOKWANE: –The members of Makhado SAPS have launched a massive manhunt for suspects, who shot and killed a 38-year-old male motorist, along the N1 South road Ben Lavin turn-off, on Saturday, 16 August 2025 at around 19h00.

It is alleged that the deceased, who was the driver, was traveling with three passengers, with a white Toyota Corolla from Gauteng to Musina, when they got a breakdown along the N1 South road, under Makhado policing area. While hoping to get assistance from other motorists. A white Toyota Fortuner stopped, and two unknown males approached them as if they were going to offer assistance. The suspects asked for the driver of the Toyota Corolla. Upon being pointed out, one of the suspects immediately produced a firearm and shot at the identified driver several times. The other three occupants ran to different directions for their safety. The suspects then boarded into their vehicle and fled from the scene.

The Police were summoned to the scene together with the paramedics. Upon arrival, he was certified dead after sustaining severe injuries. His identity is currently withheld for investigation purposes.

Police opened a case of murder. The motive behind the murder is currently unknown, but further Police investigations will determine.

MARBLE HALL STOCKTHEFT AND ENDANGERED SPECIES UNIT RECOVERED ANIMALS CARCUSES DURING THE OPERATION AT MARBLE HALL TOWN

POLOKWANE On Thursdays , 07 August 2025, members of Marble Hall Stock theft and Endangered species Unit (STES) recovered eight (08) carcasses of goats, and two heads of cows during the operation in Marble Hall town.

The Stocktheft commander Captain Ramoneta led the disruptive operation carried out by the Department of Agriculture, Department of Environmental and Tourism, Schuninsdraai nature reserve meat safety, and compliance officers.

The operation was at aimed at monitoring the compliance at butcheries and illegal distribution of red meat around Marble Hall policing precinct, Sekhukhune District

Four butcheries in Marble Hall town were visited during the operation.

The butchery owner was issued with admission of guilty fines of R1000.00 for non compliance of meat safety Act 40 of 2000.

An admission of guilty fine of R100.00 was issued for failure to brand mark livestock interms of Section 6(1) of Stocktheft Act.

All the animal meat was confiscated for disposal purposes .

CONFIRMED NEWS IN | Police are on the lookout for Zimbabwean 🇿🇼 national Jabulani Thabang Moyo who is linked to the killing of two police detectives in Roodepoort today.

It is revealed that the two police officers, a sergeant and warrant officer, were transporting Moyo back to prison after he appeared before Roodepoort Magistrate Court on a case of business robbery that took place in February, 2023.

According to the police, while at Roodepoort CBD, they were shot at and disarmed. The Sergeant was certified dead on the crime scene while the Warrant Officer was taken to the hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.

Moyo was seen driving the police vehicle that was later found abandoned a few kilometres from the crime scene.

The murder trial against three Radzuma siblings accused of killing two SAMWU leaders in what is suspected to be related to VBS investment, had their matter postponed to October by the High Court in Thohoyandou, Limpopo. The accused, Simon, Percy and Ndivhuwo, will take the witness stand to testify on their defense. The trio also indicated that they intend calling witnesses. They are being tried for the murders of Timson Musetsho and Ronald Mani in the High Court sitting at Waterval magistrate's court outside Louis Trichardt. Musetsho and Mani were against Vhembe district investing more than 300 million rand in the now defunct VBS Mutual Bank

Alleged Cash-in-Transit Robber Appears in Court

A 49-year-old man, Funanani Godfrey Makhado Bongwe, appeared in the Musina Magistrate Court on 14 July 2025, facing charges related to a cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery that occurred on 08 September 2021.

Bongwe was arrested on 12 July 2025, during a multidisciplinary operation conducted by the Hawks' Serious Organised Crime Investigation (SOCI) unit, in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies.

The charges against Bongwe include CIT robbery, conspiracy to commit CIT robbery, attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition.

According to reports, the CIT robbery occurred at Musina Mall, where a security official was accosted by unknown suspects while carrying two boxes containing an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fired two shots at the security official, took the cash boxes, and fled the scene in a white Toyota Hilux.

The Hawks' investigation, led by Musina-based SOCI, linked Bongwe to the crime. A warrant for his arrest was issued, and he was subsequently apprehended at Thohoyandou.

Bongwe's court appearance was a significant milestone in the case, with the matter being postponed to 22 July 2025 for profiling.

Major General (Adv) Gopz Govender, Provincial Head of the Hawks in Limpopo Province, commended the team for their outstanding work in apprehending the suspect.

The investigation highlights the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating serious and organized crime.
