A few days ago, Milena won the prize for Best Film in the Dealing With the Past competition at the Drim Short Film Festival in Struga, North Macedonia. This is Milena’s first prize, and we could not be more thankful for this recognition.

Words from the jury: “In the words of the great Mark Twain, the best predictor of the future is the past. This is an incredibly emotional story that draws parallels between the world we are living in and the raging flames of war that seemed to have been extinguished. The film’s thoughtful exploration of these themes, combined with compelling storytelling, makes it a piece that stands out, resonates with the audience, and underscores the importance of understanding the true cost of war. Bravely portraying the sensitive subject of war by centering the story on the female perspective, the film emphasizes the universal burden that we all carry in the shadows of conflict, reminding us of the deep, enduring impact that war leaves on individual lives.”
