Studies show that when people practice mindfulness and have mindfulness traits inside of them, when you put them in a scanner and show them emotionally evocative face, and lower area and the amygdala lights up, if they name the feeling accurately the whole system calms down. So the left hemisphere is very important for balancing excessively reactive right and sub-cortical area."
