Our dear ICAP's official Hugo Govin remembers his relation with Reverend Lucius Walker and the Friendshipment Caravan Pastors for Peace:
As you know, through ICAP, lífe rewarded me with the opportunity of collaboraring directly with Rev. Lucius Walker, to facilitate his humanitarian and solidarity duty with our Homeland.
After his first meeting with Alejandro Oduardo, due to the dangerous events experienced by the caravan members in Central America, Rev. Lucius Walker decided to include Cuba as a destination for the Friendshipment Caravans. Since that first time till now, I have been linked to IFCO/Pastors for Peace
With no intention I achieved that ICAP's presence could serve to relax tensions suffered by the caravan members during their tour by American territory,, once at the Canadian border and many others at the border points in Mexican ports and airports, including the epic event that took place inside the "little yellow school bus" in Texas desert, whose members we received in "El Paso".
Several times Lucius said something that still fills me with a fine pride. He told his daughters, friends and members of the Caravan that: "When I see Hugo at the border or at the airport to embark us to Cuba, I think we have had success in everything."
I always tried and I think I have succeeded in accomplishing our responsibilities for the Friendshipment Caravan Pastors for Peace's secure arrival in Cuba, regarding the arrangements of flights, visas, procedures at airports and other issues related, all the obstacles were overcome.
That's my eternal tribute to Reverend Lucius Walker.
