From hunt to plate, I show why we and why the sea deserves our respect. 🧜🏽‍♀️

Listen to the waves, look up at the stars, and let the world be quiet for a minute.

The yellow goatfish may look like it’s just stirring up sand for fun… but this little reef snack hunter is working. 😅

Those whisker-looking barbels under its chin help it feel and taste through the sand, searching for worms, tiny crustaceans, and other hidden snacks.

When the goatfish starts digging, everybody wants a piece of the buffet. 🐟

Just another day on the reef watching the seafood excavation crew at work.

Stay Salty my friends. 🤿🌊

Just a little north side vibe from the shores of St. Croix. 🇻🇮

From sunset to nightfall… the hunt continues. 🌅🌙

There’s something different about slipping into the water as the day fades and the reef settles into its nighttime rhythm. Beautiful views above, important work below.

Lionfish don’t clock out when the sun goes down… and neither do we. 🤿

Some underwater encounters instantly remind you where you are in the food chain. 🐛

The reef may look calm, the fish may be going about their day, and then suddenly…that unmistakable shape appears.

Bull sharks have a reputation, and for good reason, they're powerful, confident and built like pure muscle moving through the blue. Probably not one of the things you want to see while spearfishing.

The ocean is beautiful, unpredictable, humbling, and always in charge.

The ocean is already wild enough. 🌊
You’ll never have to worry about me posting AI-generated ocean videos and pretending they’re real.
Everything you see here comes from real dives, real encounters, real conditions, and real experiences underwater.

Honestly… there’s already more beauty, mystery, and chaos in the ocean than any computer could invent. From lionfish hunts to sharks, weird reef creatures, rough entries, low viz, perfect viz, missed shots, funny moments, and those once-in-a-lifetime encounters… that’s the part of diving I love sharing with you.

There’s far too much happening beneath the surface for me to ever need to manufacture it.

What you see on Salty Locs will always be authentic. 🤿

Stay Salty my friends.

One big rock. Two completely different reef stories.

At first glance, I quickly spotted the lionfish tucked in tight beside the structure, exactly where they love to hide, waiting to ambush small reef fish.

But just before the shot, I noticed something else just a few feet away… a tigertail sea cucumber stretched out into the sand, quietly doing its part to keep the ocean floor clean.

That’s the magic of diving. One moment you’re removing an invasive predator, and the next you’re reminded how many hardworking little reef creatures are living right beside it.
