In the meantime, another tropical wave has become a tropical storm across the central Atlantic; the Tropical Storm Lorenzo. It is not expected to pose a threat to any land. Our attention goes to the tropical wave behind it, the tropical wave number 46. Models have been hinting at the possibility that it may end up developing early next week as it approaches the Caribbean as a "low rider". We are still a week away from that scenario, but we will watch it very closely and inform you as it may enter the Caribbean and be of interest for many islands, including the ABC islands.

Mientras tanto, otra onda tropical se ha convertido en tormenta tropical en el Atlántico central: la tormenta tropical Lorenzo. No se espera que represente una amenaza para tierra firme. Nuestra atención se centra en la onda tropical que la sigue, la onda tropical número 46. Here we share our 5-day weather forecast for the ABC islands for this week (October 13th to October 17th, 2025).
* The weather this week is expected to be somewhat unstable and variable, which is quite typical for the time of the year. The forecast shows a variable start to the week with partly cloudy skies and the possibility of a few local (thunder)showers. On Tuesday, a local shower or two will also be possible on parts of the local islands. By Wednesday, locally a shower is not ruled out, but the current forecast shows it could be the driest day of the workweek. By Thursday through Saturday, the weather is expected to become more unstable again with higher chances of some showers and thunderstorms, that could locally be heavy. The winds this week will be generally light to moderate from the east during the first part and from the southeast by Wednesday, but by Thursday to Friday, those will become light and variable. The weak wind flow will accentuate the heat. The sea will have waves between 0.4 to 0.7 meters high. There will be no Saharan dust during most of the week with the exception of Monday, when there will be a little bit present. Maximum temperatures this week will be around 33 degrees Celsius/ 91 degrees Fahrenheit, and the minimum temperatures will be around 27-28 degrees Celsius/ 81-82 degrees Fahrenheit.

Aquí les compartimos nuestro pronóstico del tiempo para las islas ABC a 5 días para esta semana (del 13 al 17 de octubre de 2025).
* Se espera que el tiempo esta semana sea algo inestable y variable, algo típico para esta época del año. El pronóstico muestra un inicio de semana variable con cielos parcialmente nublados y la posibilidad de algunos chubascos (tormentosos) locales. El martes, también será posible que se produzcan uno o dos chubascos locales en algunas partes de las islas. Para el miércoles, no se descarta un chubasco local, pero el pronóstico actual indica que podría ser el día más seco de la semana. ⛈️⚠️ As expected, convective clouds have been developing this evening and the first thundershowers have developed near and over some areas of Curaçao. This is expected to be the most unstable night of the coming days according to the models. Take this into account.

Activity has been reaching parts of all three islands during the morning and is still ongoing. It could still spread to other areas. As there is little wind, the activity barely moves, leading to locally lots of rainfall over the same areas and consequently some flooding over the prone areas. Conditions are expected to be even more favorable tonight and tomorrow morning for shower and thunderstorm activity.

La actividad ha alcanzado partes de las tres islas durante la mañana y continúa. Podría extenderse a otras zonas. Activity so far has stayed over water or has dissipated before moving onshore across the local region. However, more activity could still develop through the morning hours. We shall see. The chances during the overnight hours and morning hours remain until Monday, but will be the highest on Saturday night though the morning hours of Sunday.

⚠️⛈️ As forecast, thunderstorm activity has started to develop near the local islands, close to Curaçao. These are expected to spread across the region and could affect parts of the islands during the night and morning hours. They can be locally heavy and lead to localized flooding over the prone areas. Also take into consideration the high amount of lightning and the likelihood of lightning strikes. Gusty winds are also possible just before or during those thunderstorms.

Weather synopsis for the ABC islands for the coming days!
¡Sinopsis meteorológica para las islas ABC para los próximos días!

As Jerry pulls north and moves away from the Caribbean, it will affect our weather pattern indirectly. It will lead to a southerly flow that will bring moisture and unstable weather our way. The instability is expected to increase by this weekend, and be more like the rainy season. By later tonight through tomorrow early morning but especially by tomorrow night through Sunday early morning conditions will become more favorable for the development of showers and thunderstorms across the local region. The winds will decrease significantly allowing this type of weather to take place and at the same time the weather to move slowly. This would consequently increase the chances of localized flooding over the prone areas as a lot of rain could fall over the same areas in a short period of time. By Sunday night through Monday early morning, it could again take place but the chances will decrease. We will monitor the weather and inform you about it. In the meantime, the Subtropical Storm Karen officially formed over the far north Atlantic and she won't bother anyone.

Jerry is passing just east of Barbuda this evening as a 65 mph tropical storm. A tropical storm warning is in effect for Barbuda, Anguilla, St. Barthelemy, St. Martin, Sint Maarten, Guadeloupe and the adjacent islands Another area is being watched for development far north across the Atlantic basin. This area could become a subtropical or tropical storm later tonight and be named Karen. It will not pose a threat to land.

Jerry está pasando al este de Barbuda esta noche como tormenta tropical con vientos de 65 millas por hora. km/h. With the newly formed Tropical Storm Jerry, we now have had a total of 10 named storms. Jerry is rapidly moving towards the west-northwest at 23 mph and has gradually been strengthening. It is expected to become a hurricane as it moves near the northeastern Caribbean by Thursday. For this reason, tropical storm watches have been issued for the next territories:

* Antigua, Barbuda, and Anguilla
* St. Kitts, Nevis, and Montserrat
* St. Barthelemy and St. Martin
* Sint Maarten
* Saba and St. Eustatius
* Guadeloupe and the adjacent islands

Whether it moves very near, further away or over the islands remains to be seen. We will watch it and inform you about it.

Con la recién formada tormenta tropical Jerry, ya hemos tenido un total de 10 tormentas con nombre. Jerry se desplaza rápidamente hacia el oeste-noroeste a 23 millas por hora y se ha fortalecido gradualmente. Se espera que se convierta en huracán a medida que se acerque al noreste del Caribe el jueves. Por esta razón, se han emitido vigilancias de tormenta tropical para los siguientes territorios:

Here we share our 5-day weather forecast for the ABC islands for this week (October 6th to October 10th, 2025).
* The first week of October has basically passed, which was the first week of the rainy season. So far it has stayed dry or mostly dry across the local islands with one exception over parts of Curacao during the 1st of October. Question remains whether this dry pattern is expected to remain or not. The monthly models for October and November are pessimistic as they expect below average precipitation. As for the forecast this week, we expect partly cloudy skies with a chance of a local shower or two during the week without excluding the chance of thunder. This possibility will increase next weekend. There will be no Saharan dust this week. The typical warmth will also remain. We will also watch the Invest 95L across the Atlantic basin which is expected to become a named storm called Jerry. The northeastern Caribbean should monitor this system. As to the winds across the ABC islands, those will be moderate from the east. The sea will have waves between 0.9 to 1.0 meters high. Maximum temperatures this week will be around 33-34 degrees Celsius/ 91-93 degrees Fahrenheit, and the minimum temperatures will be around 28 degrees Celsius/ 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

Aquí les compartimos nuestro pronóstico del tiempo para las islas ABC a 5 días para esta semana (del 6 de octubre al 10 de octubre de 2025).
* La primera semana de octubre prácticamente ha pasado; la primera semana de la temporada de lluvias. Hasta ahora, el tiempo se ha mantenido seco o mayormente seco en las islas locales, con la excepción de algunas zonas de Curazao el 1 de octubre. Two hurricanes next to each other, Imelda (left) and Humberto (right), something that we do not see too often and also causing the Fujiwara effect due to their proximity. Thankfully as this effect is pushing Imelda to the east avoiding so the areas of the Carolinas but on track to move over Bermuda.

Dos huracanes cercanos, Imelda (izquierda) y Humberto (derecha), algo poco común y que también causa el efecto Fujiwara debido a su proximidad. Afortunadamente, este efecto empuja a Imelda hacia el este, evitando así las zonas de las Carolinas pero en camibo hacia las Bermudas.

* The end of September will see no changes in the weather as for Monday and Tuesday with partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures. On Tuesday, the chance of a local shower will increase. By Wednesday, October 1st, the rainy season will officially start across the ABC islands, and the forecast calls for a little higher chance for a few local showers for that day and also somewhat the days after. The easterly trade winds will gradually decrease during the week, which will accentuate the heat. There will also be some dust in the air on Tuesday and Wednesday. The sea will have waves between 0.8 to 1.5 meters high. Maximum temperatures this week will be around 33 degrees Celsius/ 91 degrees Fahrenheit, and the minimum temperatures will be around 28 degrees Celsius/ 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
