As Erin continues moving towards the northwest near the Turks & Caicos Islands and the Southeast Bahamas, where a tropical storm warning is in effect, the category 4 hurricane has been getting larger as it goes through eyewall replacement cycles. Besides Erin, there is another tropical wave that is expected to develop into a cyclone in the coming days that could affect the northeastern Caribbean by Friday. The system has a 60% chance to develop in 7 days. We will monitor it and inform you about it.

A medida que Erin continúa avanzando hacia el noroeste cerca de las Islas Turcas y Caicos y el sudeste de las Bahamas, donde se encuentra vigente una alerta de tormenta tropical, el huracán de categoría 4 se ha expandido a medida que atraviesa ciclos de reemplazo de la pared del ojo. Además de Erin, se espera que se forme otro ciclón de una onda tropical en los próximos días, la cual podría afectar el noreste del Caribe el viernes. Here we share our 5-day weather forecast for the ABC islands for this week (August 18th to August 22nd, 2025).
* The week starts a little unstable mainly during the nighttime and morning hours due to the presence of an unstable atmosphere caused by the major hurricane Erin located north of the Caribbean. During this time, there exists the risk of a local shower or thunderstorm. By Tuesday midday onwards, a more stable pattern will dominate across the region for the next few days. Locally a shower will not be excluded. Skies will get hazy by Thursday onwards. Winds will be light to moderate on Monday and on Tuesday and become generally moderate the days after. The seas will be generally calm during the start of the week with a little higher wave action by midweek with waves between 0.6 to 1.5 meters high. Maximum temperatures this week will be around 33 degrees Celsius/ 91 degrees Fahrenheit, and the minimum temperatures will be around 27 degrees Celsius/ 81 degrees Fahrenheit.

Aquí les compartimos nuestro pronóstico del tiempo a 5 días para las islas ABC para esta semana (del 18 de agosto al 22 de agosto de 2025).
* La semana comienza algo inestable, principalmente durante la noche y la mañana, debido a la atmósfera inestable causada por el huracán intenso Erin, ubicado al norte del Caribe. Durante este período, existe el riesgo de algún chubasco o tormenta eléctrica local. A partir del mediodía del martes, se establecerá un patrón más estable en la región durante los próximos días. No se descarta algún chubasco local. El cielo se tornará brumoso a partir del jueves. Los vientos serán de ligeros a moderados el lunes y el martes, y se moderarán en general los días posteriores. El mar estará generalmente en calma a principios de semana, con oleaje ligeramente más elevado a mediados de semana, con olas de entre 0.6 y 1.5 metros de altura. Due to the presence of Erin just north of the Caribbean, the winds across the ABC islands will continue to be on the light side. In addition to that, an humid and unstable airflow from the south (from Venezuela) will be present, which means that any thunderstorm activity that may develop over the northern parts of Venezuela, may end up reaching parts of the ABC islands by mainly later this evening, tonight and/or tomorrow morning. This could again happen tomorrow evening through Monday morning and possibly extend through the first half of next week as we remain under that unstable flow.

Debido a la presencia de Erin justo al norte del Caribe, los vientos en las islas ABC continuarán siendo flojos. Además, se presentará un flujo de aire húmedo e inestable proveniente del sur (desde Venezuela), lo que significa que cualquier tormenta eléctrica que se desarrolle en el norte de Venezuela podría llegar a partes de las islas ABC principalmente esta noche o mañana por la mañana. Hurricane hunters have found that Erin is now a category 5 major hurricane, the strongest category. It has strengthened explosively in the last 24 hours. Thankfully, it is located north of the Caribbean, but it barely evaded the islands from more serious impacts.

Los cazadores de huracanes han descubierto que Erin es ahora un huracán intenso de categoría 5, la más fuerte. Se ha fortalecido con fuerza en las últimas 24 horas. Afortunadamente, se encuentra al norte del Caribe, pero apenas logró evadir las islas de impactos más graves.

Erin is now a category 4 hurricane with winds up to 130 mph. It has strengthened rapidly. It is expected to continue strengthening during the day today. It is the first major hurricane of the Atlantic season.

Erin es ahora un huracán de categoría 4 con vientos sostenidos de hasta 130 mph. Se ha fortalecido rápidamente y se espera que siga fortaleciéndose durante el día de hoy. Es el primer huracán intenso de la temporada del Atlántico.

Erin, currently a category 2 hurricane (first hurricane of the Atlantic basin season) is well on its way to become the first major hurricane of the season across the Atlantic basin. It is expected to move north of the Caribbean today and remain over the open waters of the Atlantic for now. More tropical waves will be watched in the coming weeks as we expect additional development. We will keep on informing you about those developments.

Erin, actualmente un huracán de categoría 2 (el primero de la temporada en la cuenca del Atlántico), se encamina a ser el primer huracán intenso de la temporada en la cuenca del Atlántico. Se espera que se desplace al norte del Caribe hoy y permanezca sobre las aguas abiertas del Atlántico por ahora. Se observarán más ondas tropicales en las próximas semanas, ya que prevemos un mayor desarrollo. Les mantendremos informados sobre estos desarrollos.

Erin is nearing hurricane strength, which would make it the first hurricane of the Atlantic basin for this season. It is expected to become a category 4 hurricane in the next days. Due to its proximity to the northeastern Caribbean, a tropical storm watch has been issued for that area. Showers and thunderstorms will reach those islands where gusty winds will at least be experienced. We will continue to monitor the system as it tracks west-northwest.

Erin ya es casi un huracán, lo que lo convertiría en el primer huracán de la cuenca del Atlántico de esta temporada. Se espera que alcance la categoría 4 en los próximos días. Debido a su proximidad al noreste del Caribe, se ha emitido una vigilancia de tormenta tropical para esa zona. With the formation of the Tropical Storm Erin, the fifth of the season, we now have the first Cape Verde season tropical cyclone. Before it formed, at already caused flooding rains over the Cape Verde islands leaving 7 victims out of which 4 children. Erin is moving westward and is expected to strengthen and to become a hurricane in the coming days and a major hurricane afterwards. It is still expected to move north of the Caribbean but changed are still possible, so we will monitor it closely and inform you.

Con la formación de la tormenta tropical Erin, la quinta de la temporada, tenemos el primer ciclón tropical de la temporada de Cabo Verde. Antes de formarse, ya había causado inundaciones en las islas de Cabo Verde, dejando siete víctimas, cuatro de ellas niños. Erin se desplaza hacia el oeste y se espera que se fortalezca y se convierta en huracán en los próximos días, y posteriormente en huracán intenso. Se espera que pase al norte del Caribe, pero aún es posible que se produzcan cambios, por lo que la seguiremos de cerca y les mantendremos informados.

A tropical wave over the eastern Atlantic is rapidly developing and is expected to become a tropical cyclone (Erin) soon. It is also expected to become the first hurricane of the season. Right now it does seem that it will not pose a threat to the Caribbean, but we will monitor this system closely in case the path changes.

Una onda tropical sobre el Atlántico oriental se está desarrollando rápidamente y se espera que pronto se convierta en un ciclón tropical (Erin). También se espera que se convierta en el primer huracán de la temporada. Por el momento, parece que no representará una amenaza para el Caribe, pero seguiremos de cerca este sistema por si cambia su trayectoria.

Here we share our 5-day weather forecast for the ABC islands for this week (August 11th to August 15th, 2025).
* Again, no significant changes are expected in the current weather pattern across the ABC islands this coming week. Skies will become somewhat hazy by Wednesday through the week; the winds will be moderate to strong as the week starts but will diminish somewhat by the second half of the week and from time to time there will be a chance of a local morning shower or two, but in general there won't be significant rainfall. The seas won't be as rough this week with waves between 1.0 to 1.4 meters high. Maximum temperatures this week will be around 33 degrees Celsius/ 91 degrees Fahrenheit, and the minimum temperatures will be around 27 degrees Celsius/ 81 degrees Fahrenheit.

Aquí les compartimos nuestro pronóstico del tiempo a 5 días para las islas ABC para esta semana (del 11 de agosto al 15 de agosto de 2025).
* Nuevamente, no se esperan cambios significativos en el patrón meteorológico actual en las islas ABC esta semana. El cielo se tornará algo brumoso el miércoles durante la semana; los vientos serán de moderados a fuertes al inicio de la semana, pero disminuirán ligeramente hacia la segunda mitad. De vez en cuando, habrá una posibilidad de uno o dos chubascos matutinos locales, pero en general, no habrá precipitaciones significativas. Most of the activity related to a disturbance has fallen over the sea near the islands in the last 24 hours. Dry weather should prevail during the rest of the day. Locally a shower or two is possible tonight and or tomorrow morning. By Monday, a tropical wave will move over the region and that could increase the possibilities of a local (thunder)shower or two.

La mayor parte de la actividad relacionada con una perturbación se ha concentrado sobre el mar cerca de las islas en las últimas 24 horas. Se espera que el tiempo se mantenga seco durante el resto del día. Localmente, es posible que se produzcan uno o dos chubascos esta noche o mañana por la mañana. Para el lunes, una onda tropical se desplazará sobre la región, lo que podría aumentar la posibilidad de uno o dos chubascos (tormentosos) locales.

A disturbance in connection with the ITCZ has led to an increase of the cloudiness and some local (thunder)shower activity across parts of the ABC islands today. This unstable weather is expected to persist throughout the current weekend with additional chances of some shower activity and the possibility of thunder. Heavy rain is locally possible and some localized flooding over the prone areas is possible.

Una perturbación en relación con la ZCIT ha provocado hoy un aumento de la nubosidad y algunos chubascos (tormentosos) locales en partes de las islas ABC. Se espera que este tiempo inestable persista durante el fin de semana, con probabilidad adicional de lluvias y tormentas eléctricas. Es posible que se produzcan lluvias localmente fuertes y algunas inundaciones localizadas en las zonas propensas son posibles.
