The regulator has issued its first dedicated framework for the sector, banning binary options and setting a 1:2 leverage cap for crypto while tightening rules around social media promotions.

🔹 Saint Vincent freezes new virtual asset applications
The regulator has paused new applications for virtual asset businesses, while submissions filed before September 1 will continue under the existing review process.

🔹 XTB founder sells another $410M in shares
Jakub Zabłocki's investment vehicle sold 9.4 million XTB shares, reducing his stake from 35.78% to 27.78% and marking at least his fifth reduction since 2023.

🔹 FTMO enters futures prop trading
The Prague-based prop firm has launched a futures beta with challenges offering up to $450,000 in simulated capital across Growth and Pro account structures.

🔹 Revolut moves closer to US banking licence
The fintech secured conditional approval for a US national bank charter, but still needs to complete regulatory steps with the OCC, FDIC and Federal Reserve.

🔹 ASIC prepares CFD leverage consultation
Australia's regulator will consult on CFD leverage rules in Q4 ahead of their 2027 expiry, with current caps set at 30:1 for major FX and 2:1 for crypto CFDs.

🔹 Dukascopy H1 profit falls 58%
The Geneva-based bank reported CHF 1.38 million in profit as trading and net interest results declined, despite customer deposits rising 25% to CHF 239.3 million.

🔹 Plus500 launches second $100M buyback
The company has started a new share repurchase programme of up to $100 million, following another $100 million programme launched in February.

🔹 Revolut launches euro stablecoin
Revolut has launched EURR, a MiCA-regulated euro stablecoin issued by Stripe-owned Bridge, with the token currently available on Ethereum and Polygon.

The duo acquired the London Capital Group stakes from FlowBank's creditors, as the broker continues its shift toward an exclusive introducing broker model for IG.

🔹 payabl. reportedly agrees €100M+ deal
ECM Partners is set to acquire a 50% stake in the Cyprus-based payments firm, with Group CEO Ugne Buračienė retaining the remaining half and continuing to lead the business.

🔹 iFOREX cuts EBITDA outlook
The CFD broker lowered its adjusted EBITDA forecast after July income plunged 77%, although new customers increased 40% during the month.

🔹 KNF keeps XTB review open
Poland's financial regulator says its review of XTB remains ongoing, with no timetable or proposed restrictions disclosed as the broker's shares fell nearly 7%.
