Girne Castle overlooks the harbor and the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The harbor is a great place to have something to eat, charter a ship, or be relentlessly hassled by restauranteurs and boat charter companies. 😂

and I went to the Adirondacks for the first time and hit up the brand spanking new East Branch Community Trails, and they were perfectly-built, flowy deliciousness. You know- the kind of trails that really overbuild your confidence until you find yourself falling from the sky like a satellite over the ocean. Any bike ride you can walk away from with nothing more than a little trauma is a good ride in my book! I think we may need to start wearing those airbags vests like the motorcycle guys do though…

The endless ridges and shadows of Utah’s Factory Butte, towering over the San Rafael swell, shot with a Mini 4 Pro.

Here’s a silly little story about taking these photos and videos: We had slept the previous night, literally on some rocks by the Colorado River, and then drove to Factory Butte to fly our drones. and I were flying, and taking our shots for like an hour. At one point, I dropped down REALLY close to the ground, into one of the deep channels, and just went full speed ahead, like I was trying to torpedo the Death Star.

The next thing I know, the signal cuts out, and it never returns. I must have misjudged my altitude and crashed into the surface. 😔 That’s not the end of the world, I’ve lost drones before, but this one had the previous two days of photos and videos on it. So I was going to have to hike out into the desert to go find it.

But first- we needed a quick bathroom break. So we drove a couple miles away to the nearest bathroom. Then we got distracted by an mtb line we spotted for to ride (I’ll post that later this month), so we were gone a solid hour.

When we returned to start our drone retrieval hike, we found the drone parked in the exact spot that we had been parked in. Apparently it hadn’t crashed at all, I just lost signal and the signal never came back! But after 30 mins of just hovering in place, it did what it was supposed to do- returned to the exact spot where it took off from. 😂

I’ve been photographing Rocky Mountain National Park’s Mills Lake for almost half my life now. Here are several photos of the same lakeside boulder throughout the years, starting with the most recent one taken in October. I could have dug up another dozen years if I had the patience, but I will resist the urge to put too much effort into this

How crazy is it, that I only just found the composition in the most recent photo, using the tree to frame the Boulder? That photo is more than 20 years in the making! If only we had some clouds that day.

Speaking of “that day”, and I started hiking at literally 5:30 in the morning to get around the timed entry “reservations required” at Rocky Mountain National Park. I’m sure there will be at least another photo or two from that amazing day of hiking.

It’s that time of year again where we put in 31 days of effort to share some experiences we’ve had over the last year (or decade 🤷‍♂️), all under the banner of a hashtag that we definitely made up:
These photos were taken way out near the tip of North Cyprus’ Karpaz Peninsula, and includes the most difficult drone selfie I’ve had the pleasure of taking. Paddleboards, waves, and drones are not a good combo!

This “chapel” in Florence is almost 200 feet tall and constructed with marble inlaid with other colored marble and semi precious stones, and well… it just made me think that what we think of as a chapel is different than what Italy had in mind. Swipe to see the amazing ceiling frescoes a bit closer. They were somehow more colorful and detailed than the finest QLED television. Haha

This was one of my favorite shots from Venice. The larger canals with the tourists and all the boat traffic was ok, but I could spend a month seeking out these little aquatic side streets…
