Reflect Festival is officially coming to Dubai 🚀 . One of Europe’s most celebrated innovation gatherings — now reimagined as the Doers Summit — will launch its first Middle East edition at Dubai Silicon Oasis.
This week, I had the privilege of witnessing the signing of this important agreement between The Doers Company and Dubai Silicon Oasis — a moment that marks a deeper collaboration between two nations I truly admire: Cyprus 🇨🇾 and the UAE 🇦🇪.
The signing was held at DIEZ headquarters and was witnessed by Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, and Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist for the Republic of Cyprus. The agreement was signed by Badr Buhannad, Deputy Director General of DSO, alongside Stylianos Lambrou and Dusan Duffek, co-founders of The Doers Company and the visionaries behind Reflect.
What began in and is now expanding to a global stage. The Dubai edition of the Doers Summit is set to gather over 3,000 participants — including startups, investors, and ecosystem leaders from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa — creating a meaningful platform for cross-border collaboration, venture building, and access to capital.
Though in the background, I couldn’t be more proud to see this bridge take shape 🌐.
I made some new friends there — Konstantinos Kleovoulou, the new Director at the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation & Digital Policy (Υφ. Έρευνας, Καινοτομίας & Ψηφιακής Πολιτικής), led by Nicodemos Damianou, whom I deeply respect.
It was also incredible to see familiar faces like George Partasides, the driving force behind the Cyprus Trade Centre In the GCC Region (Dubai) and our Business Attaché at the Embassy of Cyprus, as well as my good friend Andreas Tsindos who helped connect the dots early on 🙌.
This isn’t just another event. It’s a movement built on trust, ambition, and shared values — uniting ecosystems and shaping the future of innovation between Europe and the Middle East.
