As our tools get smarter, human judgment becomes more valuable.

AI is already good at handling routine work. As a result, the real value is shifting toward the things only people can do: understanding the product and its architecture, navigating trade-offs, and taking responsibility for decisions.

That’s what our Head of Delivery, Sergey, talks about in his latest interview with The AI Journal. It’s a conversation about Brain — our internal AI tool built by the Age of Magic team — and how AI is changing day-to-day game development.

SuperCity turned 15, and its story is far from over.

This year, the game reached two major milestones: $100 million in lifetime revenue and 40 million installs.

The industry often celebrates new releases. But keeping a game alive for 15 years takes a different kind of expertise. It takes player trust, a team willing to evolve with the market, and the discipline to keep improving the product year after year.

That’s why, 15 years later, SuperCity remains a living game rather than a legacy title. And for us, that’s the achievement that matters most.

Life doesn’t always feel like a game. But game development experience can help people overcome real-life challenges. That’s what happened to Age of Magic developer Alina and her sister Olya, a UI/UX designer.

After surgery, Olya lost part of her visual field, and everyday things became harder than usual at first. The sisters couldn’t find a suitable tool for rehabilitation, so they started developing their own project—a game that helps people with visual field impairments adapt to life, learn to read again, and navigate the world ❤️

Interface design in games isn’t just about usability. It also shapes how player feel: cared for, calm, and engaged. And if something goes wrong, the player will yell at the screen (rightfully so!).

But our UX/UI Designer Ira keeps it under control—and shares the key principles she uses to design emotions in SuperCity.

AI tools don’t change processes on their own. People do—if you give them time, room to experiment, and a bit of resourcing. That’s how “AI Odyssey” appeared in SuperCity: a four-month adventure where the team discovered the best ways to use neural networks in their work.
