Three middle-aged women—Cara, Lillian, and Emilia— have two things in common: a deep love for animals and the shared grounds of the Mediterranean island that is sunny Cyprus. When they learn about a horrific incident involving a puppy and -surprisingly- a cardboard machine they are simply unable to remain passive. Spurred by grief and indignation, they form an activist group dubbed the “Dromos Animal Liberation Front”, embarking thus on a campaign against all animal cruelty. As they fall into a pattern of daring actions that more often than not remind one of a crime spree, widespread attention is drawn to their efforts, and controversy is bred across the island.
