A street brawl in the spa town of Luhačovice that ended in death is now set to be reviewed by an appeals court. Two Ukrainian nationals are facing charges over a fight outside a bar in Luhačovice in July 2024, during which a Slovak man died after being struck on the head.

According to prosecutors, the altercation was sparked by an argument linked to disagreements over the war in Ukraine. Both defendants maintain that they acted in self-defence.

The appeal against the verdict will be heard by the High Court in Olomouc. A hearing date has not yet been scheduled.

✈️ From Brno to Frankfurt? Maybe as early as next year!

Brno and the South Moravian Region are looking for a carrier to provide regular flights to Frankfurt am Main four times a week starting in the middle of next year. It is one of the largest airports in Europe and an important transfer hub.
