The Art of Hunting Photography and the World of Cynology
"In a world where a visual story tells more than a thousand words, Adam Simandel stands as an exceptional storyteller. Through his project FotoStory A.S., he brings viewers a unique perspective on hunting and the world of cynology, with each photograph being a precisely captured moment that carries a deep story, details, and authentic atmosp

here. With his lens, he documents not only the act of hunting itself, but above all the atmosphere, emotions, traditions, and belonging that are associated with these events. His work goes far beyond ordinary documentation; it is a true art that requires not only technical mastery with a lens, but above all a deep understanding of the hunting craft, endless patience, and genuine respect for nature and its challenges. Adam is able to capture the essence of these encounters – from the preparations, through concentrated moments of waiting, to shared joy of success or respect for the game caught. An inseparable and very important part of his portfolio is also the photography of hunting dogs. With extraordinary sensitivity and understanding for their irreplaceable role in hunting, Adam Simandel masterfully records the beauty, strength and intelligence of these faithful four-legged companions. Whether it is moments from training, field work, or portraits revealing their unique personality and deep bond with their masters, each photograph of a hunting dog is a testimony to their essential role in hunting culture. Adam's images are able to capture their passion for work, elegance in movement and devotion, which makes him a sought-after photographer for dog breeders and lovers. In 2017, he founded the WO-DO (Workshop DOg) project: a four-day photo - hunting seminar, where he shares his experience with photographing dogs in in motion with accompanying program. Although his main interest is hunting and dogs, Adam's camera occasionally captures wild animals in their natural habitat. These shots - whether it's a majestic deer emerging from the morning mist, a shy fox in the thick grass or a quiet moment of a predator on a branch - are visually captivating and emotionally powerful. Adam is able to capture the essence of the wilderness, its beauty, wildness and transience, encouraging the viewer to reflect on the fragility of ecosystems and the importance of their protection. project actively covers a wide range of hunting and canine events across different geographical areas not only of Central Europe, but also of America and Asia. This is a testament to his extensive experience and ability to adapt to different environments and situations. Adam's work is not just about capturing the "hunt" as such, but rather about the stories that take place in the lap nature – about the relationships between man, animal and landscape. Adam Simandel emphasizes that all photographs and text excerpts from his work are subject to copyright and their use is possible only with his knowledge and consent. This underlines not only his professional approach, but also the value and originality of his work. In each shot of Adam Simandel, one can feel a deep passion for the wilderness and a tireless effort to capture its fleeting, yet iconic moments. His work is not only a visual pleasure, but also an important contribution to spreading awareness about the importance of nature conservation, ethical hunting and the irreplaceable role of hunting dogs. Through FotoStory A.S., Adam Simandel brings photographs that live and tell stories – stories about nature, about hunting and about the invisible bonds that connect us with the wilderness"

Vracov I / 2026: Major Album Update 📸🌲
Here’s the massive photo drop I promised! This time, it’s a mix from both days, capturing the true dynamics of the training. From the sunny Saturday to the colder Sunday – the grounds tested every handler and dog. 🐕🤝
The Vracov grounds were filled with a diverse range of pointers, each showcasing their unique style.
🦊🐇🐓
It was great to watch the differences:
🐶Weimaraner with its deliberate pace and elegance.
🐾German Shorthaired Pointer as a tireless engine full of power.
🐶Hungarian Vizsla and its legendary "velcro dog" nature – constant contact with the handler and relentless temperament.
🐾Irish Setter with its typical aristocratic style of searching.
🐶Bohemian Wire-haired Pointing Griffon , which excelled in my lens specifically during honest fieldwork.
🦊🐓🐇
A good handler is defined by patience and the ability to stay calm even when things don't go as planned. Training is the place where mistakes should happen so they don't repeat in the field. You could feel that perfect mix of dust, pines, and absolute focus.
Enjoy this batch capturing that shared journey.
🌾📯
But stay sharp, we're still not finished – the finale is coming soon! ⏳🔥⚠️

Vracov I / 2026 – Day Two 📸🌲

Sunday among the pines was a bit colder and without the sun, but the pace stayed high. Miroslav Varga’s team operated at full throttle from the start, and the handlers and their dogs kept up every step of the way. The cooler weather gave the work in the field a different, more focused atmosphere. 🐕🤝
Training under the guidance of a professional instructor is about more than just drills. It’s about:
🧏‍♂️
Experience that matters: A trainer must have years of real-world experience. Only a seasoned pro can anticipate a dog's reaction and provide solutions that actually work in the field.
🐾
The Expert Eye: An instructor spots the tiny mistakes in timing or body language that a handler often misses.
⚠️
Custom Approach: Every dog is different. A pro knows how to read their character and adjust the method to fit the specific team.
👀
Real-world Discipline: Simulating actual hunting scenarios ensures the dog remains steady and focused even when the adrenaline kicks in.
🐇🦊🐓
Building a System: It’s about a logical progression that turns a dog into a reliable partner you can trust in any situation.
👇
Here’s another small preview from yesterday. You’ll have to wait a little longer for the full gallery from the entire weekend, but you definitely have something to look forward to! ⏳🔥
Good hunting and training!

Yesterday’s first day among the pines is behind us, and today we’re already back out in the field. 🌲
The photos speak for themselves – honest fieldwork, solid retrieves, and the discipline that Miroslav Varga and his team demand. We’ve got a community here that lives for cynology, and you can see that grit in every moment on the grounds. 🐕🤝
This is just a handful of shots; the rest will be coming soon. For now, we're back in action. A proper start to the season. 📯📸

In just a few hours, a new training season begins among the pine trees of South Moravia. It’s that moment of the year when it pays to pause for a while and look back at everything that happened under those pines last year. After all, the past season wasn’t just about the drill; it was about all those successes, smiles, new friendships, and shared experiences that stayed with us long after. 🌲✨

Training gun dogs is not, in fact, just about training the dogs themselves. It is about building deep bonds and finding a connection – not only between the handler and the dog, but also about strengthening the community of hunting cynologists. 🐕🤝

Under the guidance of Miroslav Varga and his team, something more than just a weekend training session was created – a community where everyone is united by a shared passion and mutual respect. Let’s step into the new season with the same joy that accompanied us last year. 🌿📯

See you in the hunting grounds in just a few hours! 🐾🌲

🦌 Silence Before the Season: The King of the Meadows is Waiting...
The season is irrepressibly approaching, though the fields and reeds remain silent for now. These days are all about patient waiting and observation. That moment when the roebuck first appears in its full glory is almost within reach. 🌿

What makes a roebuck "invisible" before the season starts?
🟢 Mastery of Stillness: Until disturbed, he can stand motionless in the reeds for tens of minutes. He blends so perfectly with his surroundings that you could walk within a few meters of him without ever knowing he was there.

🟢 Terrain Acrobatics: Once he decides to move, he’s like lightning. His leaps through the tall grass (as seen in the photo) aren't just for show—it’s a tactic to maintain a clear view of his surroundings in dense cover.

🟢 Playing the Wind: A roebuck doesn't just rely on his eyes. With his sensitive nose, he "reads" every visitor to the hunting ground long before they can get close.

Watch closely and stay tuned so that you don't miss a thing this year (and not just in the field). The preparation is peaking, and nature—along with FotoStory A.S. —will soon reveal its greatest treasures and surprises. 🌲✨

🌾 The Reeds: Where Theory Ends and Practice Begins

As a photographer, I spend hours in the field waiting for that one perfect moment. I don't just watch the dogs; I watch how the hunter moves and reacts to the environment. The reeds are unpredictable—sharp stalks, hidden moisture, and constant movement.

That’s why in my photography, I focus on the details that make a hunt successful, safe, and respectful:

✅ Gear That Won't Let You Down: The huntress in this frame relies on ProHunt. Why does it matter? In the reeds, you need fabric that is silent, tear-resistant, and keeps you dry. When you don't have to worry about discomfort, you can focus 100% on safe firearm handling and the dogs' work.

✅ Safety First: In dense cover, discipline and awareness of your companions are vital. Professional gear with the right fit ensures you stay agile and ready for any situation.

✅ Honoring Tradition: That silent dialogue between human and dog is our shared cultural heritage, which I strive to capture in every frame.

🐾 Masters of the Marsh: Working in dense reeds and water is a job for the specialists. Whether it’s the endurance of pointing dogs (Gundogs) or the incredible drive of water dogs, their ability to track and retrieve in such tough terrain is breathtaking. Without their instinct, hunting in the reeds wouldn't be the same. It’s a partnership I strive to capture in every frame.

Discussion: Who is the "King of the Reeds" for you? Do you rely on the versatile Pointer, or are Water Dogs your top choice for this terrain? Fellow hunters, what is your "must-have" feature for gear in tough terrain? Is it the durability of the fabric, or the silence of the movement?👇

Part Two: The Art of Fine Details 💎🐾

The journey from raw talent to mastery doesn’t end in a day. It’s an endless dialogue where words become unnecessary and absolute focus takes over. 🌾

If the first phase of training is about strength and foundations, the second is about fine mechanics. It’s about that moment in the field when the dog knows exactly what you expect before you even raise a hand. This is where "obedience" transforms into "partnership." 🤝

Polishing this "furry diamond" requires more than just time – it requires a piece of your heart. Every second where the dog works with passion and perfect composure is proof that the arduous journey was worth it. 🐕✨

Sharing a few more glimpses of this process. Because in cynology, the most beautiful sight isn't just the result, but the shared path leading to it. Have a wonderful day to you and your four-legged partners! 🌿🦮

Natural talent is a gift, but reliability is earned. 🐾🌾

Training a gundog is a demanding process, much like cutting and polishing a diamond. At the start, there is raw talent and passion, but it takes hundreds of hours in the field, patience, and discipline to give it that true brilliance and precision. 💎

It’s not just about drills and commands, though. Every hour spent together in the field deepens a bond that can’t be learned from books. Man and dog gradually become an inseparable team, understanding each other without words—a glance, a gesture, or a quiet encouragement is all it takes. 🤝

These moments are where the true magic of cynology happens. Watching them work is the ultimate reward for every early morning wake-up call and every pair of soaked boots.

Friends, for a pleasant Sunday morning, I’m sending you some moments from the process of polishing these furry diamonds and magical companions... for whom, as they say: "To every dog, his master is God." 🐕✨

Make your four-legged partners feel like an inseparable part of your life today. Give them what they love the most... As for us, we’re heading back to the field. 🌿🦮

Wishing you all a beautiful Sunday!

FIELD RESET: SEASON OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY 🏁

After a planned break and recovery period following last season, we are returning to what defines us. Starting this Saturday, we kick off with our first training session, followed by another high-intensity weekend right after. ⚡️

This year isn't just about returning to familiar grounds. We are pushing further—expect new locations, more demanding challenges, and, above all, strategic shifts in our approach.

We’ve been working on new partnerships and projects that reflect our growth and professional direction in working with hunting dogs and hunters alike. The 2026 season will be defined by quality, precision, and new synergies. 🔥

Stay tuned—I’ll be revealing the details of what we’ve been preparing step by step. Let’s get to work.
