They bring something for the fans of old school death thrashing metal and high energy Scandinavian punk rock and roll; inspired by the likes of Entombed, Dismember, Master, Birdflesh, Motorhead, early Sepultura (and a recommendation of Spanish sludge band Moho).

As the post-Obscene Extreme Festival crash and reality return become all-consuming (and having enjoyed many HM2-led metallic treats, including Dismember and Rotten Sound), the timing of releasing and relistening to this Eyemasters recording couldn't be more perfect.

The magnificent Camembert Électrique label in France released an immense compilation called 'Voyager 13', their take on the events of 1977, when 'Voyager 1 and 2 probes left Earth carrying the Golden Record, a sound and visual message intended for potential extraterrestrial life. Nearly fifty years later, Camembert Électrique imagines sending a new probe: Voyager 13'.

I was already a fan of the Golden Record concept, and made a Morbid Beauty album about it ('A long time ago...') - well, back in September, 2024!

As the drone doom noise soundscapes of TrailOfGhosts alternate with the dark industrial metal stomp and bleep of KNIFEBATH, this split release collaboration appeared like it should already exist.

TrailOfGhosts is an electrodoom and noise/soundtrack artist from Alvin, Texas, reacting to mood and surroundings, fusing experimental noise, ambient textures, and doom-laced soundscapes.
Tracks made with guitar, vocals, drum machine, analogue synth and samples sourced from 'Grief: A Peril In Infancy', a 1947 Spitz and Wolf Research Project study.
