Stop talking about what you don’t want. Stop posting about instances of hate and injustice and start posting about what you want to see made manifest: love and hope and peace and justice. That is how we make real change. Never go to an anti-war rally, Mother Teresa never did, she only attended pro-peace rallies. If you believe in the power of manifestation then you should talk and post and share and do with purpose and precision. It may seem counterintuitive, but being that light you wish to see manifest in the world means bringing those elements and qualities into existence and avoiding topics of discord and lack. The moment we begin to focus on that which we truly want is the moment it will begin to dominate our reality. Thanks for coming to my talk.

Last birthday of mine I was sick and alone in India - it might’ve been the worst I’ve ever felt on January 18th. This year I only asked for one thing my birthday: to not be stranded in New Delhi in a cold scummy youth hostel with a 103F fever, thank you God for granting me my only wish😂

If you love something, set it free. This year I’ll be making sacrifices I never wanted to make, but I trust it will be all worth it in 2027 and beyond. If I’m not around much in person or on social media, that is why…I’m in the kitchen…cooking something🫡

I would fly 14hrs back to Shanghai at the drop of a hat just to be able to have that xiao long bao again🤤Any foodie who hasn’t done Shanghai yet is still an amateur - you must experience the birthplace of steaming little buns, the windowsill scallion pancake shops that utter whispers of ancient dynastic ways, and of course the mystery juice labeled with quasi subliminal s*x messaging. Book your trip to Shanghai…for your belly’s sake.

There’s a 30 foot concrete slab dangling from the 7th story of a dilapidated, blown out apartment building. The enormous flat rock is hanging on by the mangled, exposed rebar like a detached limb clinging to the body by it’s microscopic nerve endings. Below are two little girls strolling down the street with their colorful purses, carelessly returning home to see mama and baba, gleefully ignorant of the potential avalanche of cement that could drop at any moment. I hope they’re returning to the warmth of their families. I hope. Tens of thousands were killed during the brutal Syrian civil war in Homs, a city that witnessed heavy fighting between Assad government troops and opposition forces as recently as December 2024. But there is hope. It exists here along every war torn road and in the smile of every friendly soul I met. I hope to see more coffee stained teeth as grins reach from ear to ear. I hope for more jingles and jangles from tiny pink toy hand bags bouncing to and fro as more kids dance through the streets. They’re starting to rebuild now. No more rifle sticks and rubble stones breaking people’s bones in Homs. Just words that forever fortify the spirit of the Syrian people: Resilience, Strength, Determination and perhaps most importantly…Hope.

I am extremely grateful to and for being selected as a recipient of the 2Lives Steven Sotloff Memorial Foundation Security Training Scholarship. This five day Hostile Environment and First Aid Training course taught me skills that can save lives in the field. As I continue to travel and film in more volatile regions of the world I can apply these skills for the wellbeing of my self and my crew, and for that I’m eternally grateful. Google Steven Sotloff if you’re unfamiliar with him and his story…truly inspiring. “Everyone has two lives: the 2nd one begins when you realize you only have one.” - Steven Sotloff

Nice to have some down time back home in Orlando after a crazy last few years attempting to reach 100 countries. If I’m going to be the first Orlando native to travel to every country in the world though, I’ll need to get moving on the final 97 countries…starting again in 2026: Ukraine, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Dominica, Trinidad & Tobago, Liberia, Sierra Leone and more🫡

On the day this photo was taken in Haiti I had a dream. Later that night I fell asleep in my Airbnb and replayed the hours earlier, walking through the same musty grocery store in Port-au-Prince...but this time I was being followed. From aisle to aisle I sensed someone, some thing, watching my every move, tracking every step I took. It was unsettling and I was eager to leave, uncertain what this entity was and what business it had with me. I began to make my way towards the spiderwebbed broken glass door at the entrance; it was propped open to allow in a steady breeze for the melting patrons inside. Then he appeared. In faded apparition form my dad sat at the end of one of the aisles like a hall monitor on duty, waiting and watching. Though not a lucid dream, I was cognizant of the fact that my dad had died only a few months ago and I walked past him bewildered and confused, pretending to not notice his ghostly presence. As I reached the store’s exit I glanced back and saw him vividly sitting in his chair, still and smiling. He slowly raised his arm and gave me a thumbs up. I was on my first film trip following his death and he was there on Hispaniola with me, signaling that I was on the right path, the righteous path, towards something bigger, something great.
And now, eight years later...we have unfinished work to do.

If I am an advocate for anything it is exposure - exposure to different cultures, languages, people and perspectives. We should actively strive for exposure to people who look, act, love, pray and vote differently than we do, and most importantly maintain an open mind and an open heart. Travel is the exposure we all need; it can be a bold step towards building empathy, respect and curiosity for strangers. I’m so grateful for the blessing of being able to travel and see our world and, more importantly, being exposed to the incredible people who inhabit it. Cheers to country #100📍Qatar🇶🇦
