Connecting with other throwers when I travel not only improves my experience by spending quality time with them, but it also saves all of us money! We split Ubers, accommodations and even meals!

The things that made you weird as a kid are probably your biggest advantages now.

The obsessive focus your teachers called a problem. The questions that annoyed everyone. The way your brain worked differently than the other kids.

At 12, that gets you labeled. At 35, that gets you paid.

Most people spend years trying to be more normal. Fitting in. Sanding down the parts that stuck out. Then they get to adulthood and realize the market rewards the exact traits they were trained to suppress.

The quirks weren't bugs. They were features waiting for the right context.

Stop trying to fix the things that make you different. They might be the only things that make you valuable.

Whenever I travel, I try to look at other cities, especially big hubs, near my destination. I personally don’t mind a short road trip of under three hours if I can save a lot of money and will be renting a car anyway.

Whenever I travel to Dangerfest, which is near Fort Wayne, Indiana, I look for flights landing in Detroit, Chicago or Indianapolis to make my money go further - all of those big hub airports are three hours or less from my destination so I can select the one that gives me the lowest airfare.

I recently helped a friend used this method: He wanted to go to a small city in northern England and the flight to London was $1500 but a flight to Glasgow was only $500. The road trip from Glasgow to his destination was only an hour meanwhile, it would’ve been a four hour drive from Heathrow. So it was a win-win all around!
