In the past weeks I have witnessed from afar the unfolding of horrendous events in my home country. With the biggest tragedy being how preventable this all was.
The people leading this series of offences and crimes have one goal in mind and that is the corruption and destruction of any hope and reason left in the hearts of people. They seek to create the illusion that they are the true representative of their peoples' will, while degrading the systems that keep those same people safe.
The only way to fight back against this is to maintain your hope. The hope of knowing that it doesn't have to be this way. That we are here because people made bad decisions, not because we are inherently violent and are doomed to fight forever.
Let us not be the victims of history! This situation is not beneficial for either side of this conflict. Any attempt to legitimise the unnecessary bloodshed of civilians is a step back and an insult to their memories.
The only way forward where the future is safe for both Palestinians and Israelis is one of cooperation. The future of these two people is inevitably intertwined.
I wrote this track with two main motifs which stand alone and amidst the chaos, noise and fear, eventually come together to create a vivid and colourful dialogue as I know that our two people can achieve, where we work and live together. I will not lose hope, and I urge you not to as well.
This track is dedicated to all those hurt and killed by the hatred, lies and violence perpetuated by those in power. It is dedicated to all those who will never dance again, and to those who never got the opportunity to dance in the first place. May we all dance together one day soon.
