The second day of Sound of Diversity project in Zadar beside the officail partner meeting and workshop session was full of meaningful movies and a rich educational programme related directly to them.

We focused on the movie „Island of Hope” followed by the dicussion on refugee integration. We also had a chance to meet a holocaust survivor Simon Gronowski, whose testimony was a deeply moving remembrance to the tragedy of WW II.

We’ve finnished the day with a round of „Tolerance Talk” titled Displaced But Not Defeated: Women On The Move - Solidarity With Refugees.

The walk around the city and getting to know the rich culture and history of Zadar showed how perfect it was to bring the Festival of Tolerance here.

The Festival of Diverse Arts in Aleksandrów Łódzki is an event that has been proving for over two decades that culture has the power to unite people. :)

This year, the two-day program will further emphasize the diversity of artistic forms and provide a platform for discussing important topics related to openness, tolerance, ecology, and environmental protection.

Of course, many people are eagerly awaiting the performance of the evening's star, who this year will be Justyna Steczkowska. A multi-talented artist – vocalist, violinist, composer, and songwriter. She is one of the few Polish vocalists with a four-octave vocal range. Thanks to her incredible talent, she has gained immense recognition in the music industry, and each of her concerts is an extraordinary musical spectacle. We will be able to participate in this musical feast on Sunday next week.

However, this year's event begins on Saturday, September 20th. The "Pure Nature" Festival and the Eco Academy invite you to the city park for a screening of the film "Maya the Bee: The Honey Games" (7:30 p.m.). This second installment in the adventures of the world's most famous bee shows her struggles in inter-meadow sporting games, where precious honey reserves for the winter are at stake. This film is suitable for both young and old viewers, combining entertainment with a subtle message about cooperation and courage. Before the film, there will be an open lecture entitled "The Role of Bees in Maintaining Biodiversity." You can't miss it if you want to learn many interesting facts about bees—for example, how they communicate with each other or what they have to do with ancient Egypt. And even earlier, at 3:00 p.m. at the Public Library. Jan Machulski in Aleksandrów Łódzki will host a stop-motion animation workshop led by Sergiusz Wasilewski – a London-based cinematographer, director, film producer, VR creator, and interactive and VR exhibition designer. Registration is required for the workshops, which will begin on Monday, September 15th, at the library. Registration is required by phone at (42) 276 40 18.

And what awaits us on Sunday, September 21st? Our city center will be bustling with artistic life. Together with representatives of the music world, masters of crafts and handicrafts, and representatives of various art forms, we will create a space full of great fun, exchange of experiences, and creative inspiration. We will have three must-see locations. The first one is, of course, the main stage, where the performance schedule is as follows:
- 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM The Lucyan Group
- 3:45 PM - 4:05 PM The Aleksandrowianie Band
- 4:05 PM - 4:45 PM "Mature Beauty" Fashion Show
- 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Gaja
- 6:10 PM - 6:30 PM Paweł Szymański
- 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Folk Collective
- 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM Justyna Steczkowska.
And throughout the afternoon, numerous workshops prepared by our institutions – the Aleksandrów Cultural Center and the Youth Cultural Center – will be taking place in the city park. You'll be able to try your hand at remote-controlled cars and family DIY, among other things.

The youngest will also have a chance to try their hand at sewing.

Children will have the opportunity to learn about the seamstress' profession, discover the secrets of hand sewing, and try their hand with a real needle and thread. They will make beautiful, colorful pillows to take home.

And what fashion-wise, do we have for adults? We invite them (and not only them) to a meet-and-greet and workshop "In the Rhythm of Slow Fashion" with Monika Szymor – a Łódź native and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Łódź. Szymor is a fashion designer and founder of the clothing brand SheMore, which has been promoting the idea of slow fashion for years. She publishes on sustainable development and responsible consumer choices. She supports women in shaping their own image and style. She will share all of this during a meet-and-greet, which will take place at 3:00 PM in the Public Library reading room (Plac Kościuszki 12). Admission is free. However, registration is required for the designer's slow fashion workshops, which begin at 6:00 PM. Registration is required for the workshops, which begin on Monday, September 15th in the library. Please register by phone at (42) 276 40 18.

Continuing along our "festival map," you'll also find the library garden. There, you'll find the " of Diversity" stage, where the program is as follows:

- 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM "Around the World" concert performed by soloists from the MDK Song Studio and TS Lutnia
- 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM "The Adventures of a Teddy Bear" performance
- 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Open Panel Discussion for the Sound of Diversity project

And why did we call this stage Sound of Diversity ? Representatives from 12 European countries, with whom Aleksandrów Łódzki (the only city in Poland) is collaborating on the Sound of Diversity project, will also be joining us during the event. "Citizens in Dialogue: Navigating EU Policy through Art" - this is the title of the visit of our our international guests' visit to the 21st Festival of Diverse Arts in Aleksandrów Łódzki. Our event in Aleksandrów Łódzki juxtaposes various art forms and simultaneously demonstrates that culture, broadly defined, can be at the heart of civic engagement. Therefore, using the example of the Festival of Diversity Arts, project participants will analyze how artistic practices can question, interpret, and humanize European Union policy, making it more accessible and relevant to the lives of citizens. Art is not just a form of expression—it is a language of participation. Through visual arts, performance, storytelling, and interactive installations, the program will examine how creativity can open new avenues of dialogue on important social issues. Speaking of important social issues, the charity edition of the Festival of Diverse Arts is also a must. This time, by sampling delicious treats at the Social Welfare Center cafe, you'll be able to support a public fundraiser to help a family affected by a house fire in the village of Zgniłe Błoto. Rural Women's Associations will also be serving delicious dishes. Additionally, entertainers will be meeting you in the park. They've prepared various shows and will ensure you'll always have a smile on your face. Aleksandrów Łódzki invites everyone – residents and visitors from the region – for two days full of unforgettable experiences that demonstrate that beauty truly lies in diversity.

The second day of our Sound of Diversity project meeting during the Multitude festival in Seine-Saint-Denis, France was filled with workshops.
We tried to answer the questions: How does cultural diversity support local development? In what ways can we guarantee cultural rights and amplify minority voices in cultural production and decision making? How can intercultural exchange contribute to shaping a more inclusive and shared local culture?
In what ways can culture help challenge stereotypes and counter misinformation?
This series of workshops between professionals was aiming to promote exchanges among European partners by exploring diversity as a driver of social cohesion and creativity—through testimonies, experience sharing, and cross perspectives.
The group also visited the exhibition „Territoire(s)” and had the chance to talk with the curator Raphaële Bertho.

The third international Sound of Diversity project meeting has just started during the Multitude festival in Seine-Saint-Denis, France.
Multitude is more than just a cultural event — the 2025 Biennale aims to showcase initiatives that embody interculturality in action across the territory. It offers a dynamic space for dialogue, discovery, and connection. Sound of Diversity – Multitude gain a deeper understanding of the cultural richness of Seine-Saint-Denis.

Today, beside exploring the festival itself, we had an opportunity to talk with Stéphane Troussel - President of the County Council, Anaïs Boutard - Director of Multitude and Charlotte Lepri - Director of the European and International Delegation.

“Funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the granting authority. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.”

The second Sound of Diversity project international partners meeting has officially started. Hosted in Stone Bell House in Prague’s old town the meeting was a unique experience of how 27’th edition of the World Roma Festival Khamoro can impact the changes in fighting the discrimination and strengthen the local policy makers in implementing ideas related directly to the basic EU values.

The project’s partners listened the lecutre „Culture policy of Prague concerning diversity” led by Jiri Sulženko from the Department of Culture and Tourism from Prague City Hall, as well as they get to know the cultural policy and city initiatives thanks to the presentation of Kristyna Kočová, Director of Creative Prague. We were also accompanied by Representative of the European Commision in the Czech Republic, Ms. Monika Ladmanova.

🎥 Sound of Diversity had an incredible start — and it was in Óbidos that the first note of this European journey into cultural diversity was heard.

We look back on some of the highlights from the first weekend of this European event — a vibrant celebration of music, identities, and intercultural encounters.

👉 This was just the first step in a journey that will cross borders and resonate across Europe.

The first international meeting of the Sound of Diversity project partners is behind us!

It was a weekend full of rich content and impressions that will allow for reflection on the further course of the project.

Our Portuguese partner - the Município de Óbidos took up the challenge and their kick off meeting was, in the joint assessment of all the other partners, extremely valuable! Congratulations to the Óbidos team! 💙

During the meetings we managed to mobilize local practitioners and activists from partnered towns to exchange models and to share strategies that promote diversity, combat discrimination and enhance minority participation by implementing cultural, social, and inclusion initiatives at the local level.

The assimilation of EU values in the “Sound Of Diversity” project during the Óbidos Vila Gaming festival made a stunning impression on both partners and festival guests. Video games and new media carry an incredible charge of emotions that can be a tool for shaping inclusive attitudes and preventing discrimination at both the local and global level.

The next stop on the “Sound Of Diveristy” project is Prague, Czech Republic, and the Khamoro festival, where we will focus on the role of minorities in Europe's cultural development and The new EU Roma strategic framework for equality, inclusion and participation.

“Funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the granting authority. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.”
