This year I made two resolutions:
1. Never stop learning new things.
2. Regularly step outside my comfort zone.
So I stepped in front of a camera and made a video about creating reels for — because watching yourself in 4K and listening to your own voice over and over again is a great form of masochism 😀
Along the way I fell so hard for DaVinci Resolve that I’m probably done with Premiere Pro. Node-based editors are having a moment thanks to the gen AI boom, but I’ve had a crush on them since I started using Redshift in Cinema 4D years ago. And if there was ever something that never belonged in my comfort zone, it was After Effects — my latest new obsession, which is where the whole video including SFX was put together. The crazy transitions were made with Kling 3.0 (wish it had existed last year when I was working on the backpack project) and the music was created in Suno 🔥
It happened gradually, but my work today is no longer just about still photography. For we’re currently working on videos where an actor is filmed in a studio and placed into a completely new environment using AI. For .cz we’ve been creating both static and animated visuals of seasonal drinks and bowls at studio quality — from a single reference photo taken on a phone. What used to be “just a photo” is now a combination of video, AI, motion design, sound design and 3D.
Comfort zone disrupted. Resolutions fulfilled. Starting next week, I’ll be having some free time — which in my case means I’m taking on new projects. Hit me up 🤙🏻
