💧 Vodník vs. Podvodník — Two Czech words that sound similar, but trust us... you don’t want to confuse them! 😅
🧙♂️ Vodník is a water goblin — a mythical creature from Czech folklore who lives in ponds or rivers, often with a green face and algae in his hair. He’s not always evil, but don’t trust him with your soul... he might keep it in a jar! 🫙🌊
🕵️♂️ Podvodník, on the other hand, is a fraudster or con artist. The word literally comes from “pod-voda” = under water, but not in a magical way! Think of it like someone who works “under the surface” — someone shady, sneaky, and dishonest. 🕳️👀
⚠️ So next time someone says “To je podvodník!” — don’t go looking for a goblin. They're warning you about a scammer!
