Tři osobnosti z AMU získaly profesorský titul

Ve čtvrtek 13. 6. se v pražském Karolinu odehrálo slavnostní předání profesorských titulů prezidentem ČR Petrem Pavlem těm osobnostem, které úspěšně absolvovaly profesorská řízení na vysokých školách. Za AMU titul profesor*ka získali hned tři vyučující: vedoucí katedry scénografie DAMU Jan Štěpánek, vedoucí katedry animované tvorby FAMU Michaela Pavlátová a vedoucí katedry zvukové tvorby FAMU Pavel Rejholec.

Three AMU academics appointed Professors

President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel officially bestowed the Professor degrees on university teachers, who had successfully passed the professorship procedures at their respective universities, in Prague’s Karolinum on Thursday, 13 June 2024. Among the newly appointed Professors are three AMU teachers: Jan Štěpánek, Head of DAMU’s Department of Scenography; Michaela Pavlátová, Head of FAMU’s Department of Animated Film; and Pavel Rejholec, Head of FAMU’s Department of Sound Design.

✧ Digitally restored film: Shadows of a Hot Summer ✧

⬛️ Just like every year, the 58th KVIFF | Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will feature the premiere of a digitally restored film from the history of Czech and Slovak cinema. This year’s film is the western ballad Shadows of a Hot Summer by František Vláčil, which earned the Crystal Globe for Best Film.

⚫️ Digital film restoration is carried out in collaboration with the Národní filmový archive, supported by the Státní fond kinematografie and financially supported by the spouses Milada and Eduard Kučera. Shadows of a Hot Summer has been restored at Universal Production Partners a.s. (UPP) and Soundsquare

✧ Digitálně restaurovaný film: Stíny horkého léta ✧

⚫️ Stejně jako každý rok bude na 58. KVIFF uvedena premiéra digitálně restaurovaného filmu z historie české a slovenské kinematografie. Letošním snímkem je westernová balada Stíny horkého léta od Františka Vláčila, který si za film vysloužil Křišťálový globus za nejlepší film.

⬛️ Digitální restaurování filmů probíhá ve spolupráci s Národní filmový archiv, za podpory Státní fond kinematografie a s finanční podporou manželů Milady a Eduarda Kučerových. Stíny horkého léta byly zrestaurovány v Universal Production Partners a.s. (UPP) a Soundsquare.

Today we’ve finally received our DAFF prize for Das Boot Season 2!

As the year comes to a close, it is our pleasure to present the projects of which we have been a part. A more recent of these is “Okupace” (Occupation), a feature film by director Michal Nohejl and producers Julie Žáčková and Jan Hlavsa, that centers around the bustle of a night in a theatre bar in the 1970’s. With a star studded cast of Martin Pechlát, Tomáš Jeřábek, Antonie Formanová, Otakar Brousek, Cyril Dobrý or Pavel Neškudla, “Okupace” is set to premiere in 2021. Stay tuned for updates!

We’d like to extend our sincere congratulations to director Apoorva Satish, sound designer Vojtěch Zavadil, FAMU and Lonely Production for their Best Sound Design award at this year for “Kanya”! The short film “Kanya” follows the story of an Indian teenage swimmer, who is ignored by her family during a time of physical and intellectual transformation. It was a pleasure to work on its Atmos mastering and we wish the crew only success in future endeavours.
