A driving force in Zambia’s innovation landscape, Simunza leads programs that help entrepreneurs explore, launch, and grow their businesses. Through his work at BongoHive, he has helped shape Zambia’s startup ecosystem — fostering collaboration between innovators, investors, and policymakers.

Beyond his role at BongoHive, Simunza is a co-founder of the Zambia Business Angels Network, an angel investor, and an active member of several national advisory boards, bringing years of experience from the advertising and telecom sectors across Africa.

With a background in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Arizona, Ms. Mtine brings over a decade of experience working with innovative organizations across Africa and beyond. At the crossroads of technology and nature, Ian Mills, Chief Conservation Officer and Head of Foundation at the African Bush Camps Foundation, will moderate the Tech for Conservation Panel at the Innovation Forum 2025, taking place on 27 October in Lusaka, Zambia. 🇿🇲

🐘 Ian Mills brings over 20 years of experience across Africa in conservation, social impact, and partnership development. At the African Bush Camps Foundation (ABCF), he leads efforts to advance the Foundation’s vision of connected landscapes and thriving communities.

🐘 The African Bush Camps Foundation works within the communities and wildlife areas surrounding African Bush Camps’ Lodges in Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

🐘 Through active engagement with local communities, the Foundation drives programs in Community Empowerment, Conservation, and Sustainability, tackling critical challenges such as unemployment, food scarcity, limited access to education and healthcare, financial empowerment, wildlife poaching, and the preservation of natural resources.

🐘 One of the Foundation’s inspiring partnerships is with Conservation Lower Zambezi, supporting Kufadza—Zambia’s first all-women ranger team. Meaning “to inspire” in the local Goba language, the Kufadza scouts patrol the Lower Zambezi National Park and surrounding areas to combat poaching, remove snares, and reduce human–wildlife conflict. These women not only protect wildlife but also serve as powerful role models for other women and youth in their communities.
