Report from the Editorial Board Meeting of the Czech Journal of Food Sciences

On June 17, 2025, a meeting of the Editorial Board of the Czech Journal of Food Sciences (CJFS) was held at the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague. Under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief prof. Ing. Kateřina Demnerová, CSc., and with the participation of co-editors and board members, the current status and development of the journal were discussed. Among the main topics of the meeting were the citation metrics and quality of published articles, as well as strategies for further support and development of the journal.

Presentation of CAAS and the Czech Journal of Food Sciences at the Den VÚM Conference

The Czech Journal of Food Sciences (CJFS) is being presented at the 27th Den of the Dairy Research Institute (VÚM), held on May 29, 2025, at the National Agricultural Museum in Prague. The event is organised by the Dairy Research Institute, s.r.o., with the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences as its partner. This year, the event is being held for the first time in the form of a conference with a poster session, allowing participants to present their research findings. The conference is intended for professionals and producers in the fields of food, feed, and dietary supplements as a platform for discussion on current topics in the food industry.

Presentation of the Czech Journal of Food Sciences at the CzechFoodChem 2025 symposium

The Czech Journal of Food Sciences (CJFS) is being presented at the 53rd symposium of the CzechFoodChem 2025, focused on new trends in food production and evaluation, held in Prague on May 19–20, 2025. The event is organised by the Expert Group for Food and Agricultural Chemistry, the Czech Chemical Society, and the Department of Food Analysis and Nutrition, University of Chemical Technology (UCT) Prague. The co-organizers are the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and the Food Research Institute Prague (from 1. 1. 2025 part of the Czech Agrifood Research Center). The symposium brings together experts from the fields of food science, agriculture, and related disciplines, including representatives from research, educational, and control institutions as well as production and commercial companies. Participants are informed about the main features of the CJFS, including its impact factor, and are encouraged to support the journal by submitting scientific articles and utilising published content for their own research.

We thank to the doc. Dr. Ing. Karel Cejpek, member of the Editorial Board of the CJFS for the presentation of the journal, as well as to the Ing. Zdennka Naglová, Ph.D. (Executive Editor of the CJFS) for the photos.

Presentation of the Czech Journal of Food Sciences at national food fair Czech Food Expo

The Czech Journal of Food Sciences (CJFS) was presented at the third year of the national food fair Czech Food Expo, held from May 15 to May 18, 2025, at the exhibition grounds in České Budějovice. The event took place under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture, Marek Výborný. The fair features food producers from all over the Czech Republic, along with workshops and cooking shows. The journal was presented through promotional materials provided by the publisher CAAS and printed copies of the journal.

Zpráva z workshopu „Piš a publikuj aneb Jak připravit rukopis pro vědecký časopis“

Dne 14. května 2025 se od 13:00 hodin konal online formou další z pravidelných workshopů „Piš a publikuj aneb Jak připravit rukopis pro vědecký časopis“, který pořádala Česká akademie zemědělských věd. Workshop byl určen pro začínající i zkušenější autory vědeckých článků. Cílem workshopu bylo informovat začínající i zkušené autory vědeckých článků o jednotlivých časopisech vydávaných ČAZV, o důležitých aspektech přípravy rukopisu před zasláním do redakce, o podmínkách a průběhu recenzního řízení a také o používaném redakčním systému. V neposlední řadě se také workshop zaměřil na etiku a citační normu. V rámci workshopu byl rovněž prostor na dotazy a diskuze.
