Puhon is one of my favorite Bisaya words. It means “someday,” but not with pressure or a deadline. It’s a quiet hope that what is meant for you will come at the right time.

A few years ago, Germany was my puhon. Becoming a nurse here was my puhon. Having my family beside me again was my puhon.

Looking back, I realize that many of the things I once prayed for have become part of my ordinary life.

If you’re still waiting for your own puhon, I hope this reminds you that not every dream arrives quickly—but that doesn’t mean it isn’t on its way.

Keep going. Your someday may be closer than you think. 🌻

I thought passing my mündliche Prüfung would be the most important part of my Anerkennung journey in Germany.

Looking back, I realize it wasn’t.

What truly mattered were the ordinary days that no one saw—the long study sessions, quiet train rides, heartfelt prayers, unwavering support from family, and the choice to keep moving forward even when things felt difficult.

Those moments may have seemed small at the time, but they were the foundation that carried me through.

My native language is Bisaya, and one of my favorite words is Padayon.

It means continuing despite life’s difficulties. 🌿

So if you’re working toward something that feels far away right now, remember that progress is often built in the ordinary moments. Keep going. Your ordinary days matter too.
