Mommy was missing me a little extra today.

She looked at the thermometer, felt the heat, and immediately knew exactly where I’d be.

Stretched out in froggy-mode on a cool tile.
Keeping chill.
Waiting patiently for watermelon.

Some things never change.

So if it’s hot where you are, find a comfy spot, take it easy, and think of me enjoying my orange watermelon on the clouds. 💖

The Mystery of Manni’s Orange Watermelon 🍉🧡

A lot of people have asked about Manni’s famous orange watermelon, so here’s a little watermelon “Warenkunde” (fruit nerd knowledge 😄).

Most people are familiar with traditional watermelon, which has bright red flesh. However, watermelons naturally come in several colors, including red, pink, yellow, and orange.

Orange watermelons are not genetically modified. They’re simply a different variety of watermelon. Their orange color comes from a different balance of natural pigments, especially carotenoids, which are the same family of pigments that give carrots, pumpkins, and cantaloupes their orange color.

What do they taste like?

Many people find orange watermelon:

* Slightly sweeter than red watermelon
* A little less “watery”
* Sometimes described as having hints of honey, apricot, or tropical fruit

The texture is generally very similar to regular watermelon.

Are they healthy?

Absolutely!

Like red watermelon, orange watermelon:

* Is over 90% water
* Contains vitamins A and C
* Provides antioxidants
* Is low in calories

Why was it special to Manni?

Manni loved all watermelon, but when we discovered orange watermelon, it became a seasonal favorite. Every summer, finding one felt a little like spotting a rare treasure. 🍉✨

Of course, he never got giant chunks. Mommy was very strict about that! He only received small, bite-sized pieces that were safe for a little pug to enjoy.

Over time, the orange watermelon became one of those things that people on The Mannihood immediately associated with him. Bacon may have been his first love, but orange watermelon was definitely on the VIP snack list. 😄

So whenever you see an orange watermelon in one of Manni’s photos, you’re looking at a real fruit, not a filter, not a prop, and not AI magic.

Just a very spoiled pug with excellent taste in summer produce. 🧡🍉

Mommy brought home something special yesterday.

Orange watermelon. 🍉🧡

Now if you knew me, you know this was serious business.

I could hear a watermelon being cut from three rooms away.
And somehow I always appeared immediately for “quality control.” 😌

The funny thing is…

Yesterday marked 200 days since I gained my wings.

And when Mommy set the watermelon down, the rainbow prisms from the kitchen window painted the floor all around it.

So naturally she grabbed her camera.

Because sometimes life gives you moments that feel a little too perfect to ignore. 🌈✨

One year ago today, I was having my professional photos taken.

Now here we are.

An orange watermelon.
A rainbow.
And a Mommy who still thinks of me every single day.

I think that’s the thing about love.

It doesn’t leave when someone leaves.

It just finds new ways to show up. ❤️

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have important Rainbow Bridge Watermelon Inspection Duties to attend to. 🍉😋

Guess what.

The Rainbow Bridge has beaches!

REAL beaches.

With sand.
And seashells.
And sunshine.

And apparently gorgeous Miss Pixie has appointed herself my official tour guide. 😌🐾

Now, Pixie spent lots of time at beaches when she was on Earth.

Me?

Not so much.

Mommy always wanted to take me someday, but we never got the chance.

So when I got here, Pixie said,

“Don’t worry, Manni. I’ll show you around.”

And I thought…

“Oh good! A nice walk on the beach.”

Then I noticed the ocean. 😳

Friends.

There is a LOT of water in the ocean.

Pixie informed me that some dogs enjoy running into the waves.

We both agreed those dogs are very brave.

Or possibly confused. BOL 🤭

So we’ve mostly been strolling along the shoreline, sniffing interesting smells, looking for seashells, and keeping a respectful distance from anything splashy.

Anyway, if anybody needs us, we’ll be right here enjoying the beach.

From a safe and perfectly reasonable distance.

First, I want to thank everyone for the incredible response to my announcement yesterday.

I’ve spent the last day reading your comments, messages, stories, and looking at photos of your truly beautiful angel babies. There have been tears, smiles, and more than a few hugs sent through the screen. ❤️

Quite a few of you have asked how The Mannihood Legacy works, so I thought I’d share a little more.

Every memorial creation is made individually for your pet. These are custom tributes inspired by your photos, memories, stories, favorite things, and all the little details that made your companion uniquely them. 🌈🐾

Because each tribute is created personally and customized for your pet, these memorials are commissioned creations.

If you’d like something created for your angel baby, simply send me a message. We’ll chat about your pet, ideas for the tribute, availability, and pricing.

I also realized some of you thought pets would be selected or chosen. While I may need to limit how many projects I take on at one time, memorials are not a contest or giveaway. ❤️

My goal is simply to create meaningful tributes that honor the love we shared with our companions and help keep their stories alive.

Over the past 6 months, something unexpected happened.

After losing Manni, creating his Rainbow Bridge adventures became one of the ways I coped with a loss that felt impossible to put into words. It gave me somewhere to place all the love I still have for him.

As I shared those stories, especially during Furbruary 2026, many pet parents reached out and asked if I could create special memorial images for their own angel babies.

What started as part of my healing journey has grown into something I never expected.

I’ve had the honor of creating tributes for beloved pets who are deeply missed, and every one of them has reminded me that love doesn’t end when our companions leave us. Their stories deserve to be remembered and celebrated.

So tonight, I’m opening a small new chapter.

The Mannihood Legacy is a place where I can help celebrate the lives of cherished pets through Rainbow Bridge portraits, Memory Gardens, welcome-home scenes, and other memorial creations made with love.

For now, I’ll be starting slowly and accepting a limited number of requests.
