Architecture can be a collective act — not a singular vision, but a shared process of making, negotiating, and caring.
In Cooperative Architecture (AADR/Spurbuch Verlag, 2025), Riccarda Cappeller develops a framework for understanding design as a performative and relational practice. Drawing from ethnographic research, artistic methods, and urban fieldwork, the book examines how architecture unfolds through cooperation, repair, and collective authorship.
Through three sites of transformation — Granby Four Streets (Liverpool), Can Batlló (Barcelona), and ExRotaprint(Berlin) — Cappeller explores how spatial practice can emerge from within communities rather than being imposed upon them.
The Berlin book presentation at invites an open conversation on architecture as dialogue and process — a way of shaping urban realities together.
