The Tribe Akashic is an Atlanta based collective consisting of 9 young artists, who’s vast individual influences help cultivate a unified sound of it’s own. With members originally from New York, Michigan, Ohio, Italy & Georgia; The Tribe’s musical layers consist of everything from Hip-Hop to House as well as Soul, and Soul Calypso. Over time, Tribe has built a synergy that many may consider rare to come by in today’s age.
The members are: RBT JNS, Sunni Velour, Hxrú, Caine Falco, Sir Plata, TAE, EnKore Beats, Ursa Major, Master Wendu
As with many releases before, I stumbled across this group on YouTube and was immediately hooked. There were three videos. After some research, I managed to get in touch, and the crew agreed to a vinyl release—I was very Happy. Based on this, they produced more songs, and after a short wait, they sent me the files and photos for the cover, which I also thought was absolutely fantastic. I think there are far too many atypical album covers these days that don't reflect the hip-hop style.
The only slight discrepancy was with the lettering, but I was able to get a "Hype Sticker" placed on the front.
Even today I am incredibly proud of this release, which also received a lot of positive feedback and sold very well internationally.
Unfortunately, I lost contact with them, and I think the group no longer exists in that form.
In my opinion, a future classic.
