“Active since 1998, they are not just a referent of cumbia sonidera but the makers of a distinctive sound: a synth-heavy, twitchy groove that relies on cheap, analog equipment, like the Korg X3. Passed around in street markets, neighborhood parties, and amongst migrant communities between Mexico and the U.S., these are not just dancefloor-tested, but the kind of cumbias with staying power.”
