Such a pleasure to be part of organised in Rome by , a first festival dedicated to risography and its use in artbook-making.

Risography has been the primary and most reliant printing technique for my own practice, since I got acquainted with it over 10yrs in my first internship for

It’s allowed me to be independent and produce in an affordable way. It’s exciting to be part of this exhibit as I’m planning a new phase for bruise studio.

Valencia

it’s been kind of hard to post about this exhibition .copeland and I had in Valencia because about a week after we took it down, natural disaster hit the region and everyone was left heartbroken in the best case scenario, and so much worse in real-life scenario. The region that has been most affected is still recovering from the floods, there’s people still living with mold, or looking for new houses, there’s people that have not yet been able to go back to their jobs.

as we’re all moving forward looking at other man-made environmental disasters, I decided to post the exhibit to keep reminding myself and you about Valencia.

SOBREMESA - what a night has been!

It took me a while to come here and have little retrospective moment of the evening we had. Books were browsed, food was shared and wine was sipped while stories were told.

The publishing community would be nothing without the dinners, the drinks and the moments we share where we invent and manifest futures together, we sign over the difficulties of independent publishing and inspire each other with pats on the backs and the projects we see others are pushing forward.

I know bruise studio would not have survived years of publishing without its small but strong community. So thank you to everyone that’s helped and to everyone that’s dropped by that night!

Welcome to Sobremesa, a book launch and a Küfa-based community dinner. This event is an invitation to a common place of meeting and dialog, where bodies and relationships are fed and the nutrients of community and togetherness assimilated. In exchange for a donation you can sip the natural wine kindly provided by Nature`s Calling and have the food prepared by bruise studio and their friends.

Sobremesa is a collaborative photography book between artists Giulia Paradell and Rada Nastai, co-published by bruise studio and Urbil Editions.

The book is a celebration of the concept of Sobremesa, - a moment of re-pause after a meal where food and ideas are shared and digested, as much as company enjoyed and tonight the book will officially be launched in Berlin!

Come by to browse the book, share, eat and sip with us! The event starts at 6pm and will go on until 10pm!

All profits go to Funds for Gaza and WFT Sudan Emergency Appeal!

un -born, -begotten, -conceived.

‘ne’er such a thing’, a photographic correspondence between artists Rada Nastai and Freya Brooke Verona Copeland grew from a mutual sense of displacement and loss. In their attempt to recover, the artists drew from a patchwork of surviving remnants from said loss, so as to fabricate a whole-cloth.

Printed using Risography on 120gsm Metapaper, the book includes inserts of C-Prints, 90gsm digital prints on tracing paper and hand-printed anthotypes on 100% cotton, all sewn in using a domestic sewing machine.

Limited edition of 50, hand-numbered.
Published by bruise studio, you can find it on the webshop. 🪨
