Now, we open the gates - 2025 — will kick of a new era. OBSOLET is accepting demos first time outside
of the crew.
We sign music we believe in, and artists we respect.

And then came the crash. Corona hit hard.
The Obsolet studio was flooded by a water damage caused by heavy rain, the founding crew fell apart,
and the scene went quiet.

In the middle of a worldwide collapsing club culture, the OBSOLET Crew took the chance to reposition itself:
Silence turned into a spark.
SoKool and Max Joni stayed locked in the studio —
a whole Album were born in that silence “Abenteuerspielplatz”.

And with it came more: “The Burma Job,” MUKKIMIAU’s first release with Max Joni — Afro House, primetime, palms, sweat.
“Coconut Kiss” — the first collaboration of and .flac
80s Miami Vice energy meets Indie Dance, two generations clashing for one moment.
Short, loud, different.

From 2019 to 2025, OBSOLET rebuilt itself.

Many unforgettable showcases worldwide and joint touring followed.

RESET.
Before we move forward, we rewind to the moment OBSOLET began.
2017: a studio in Berlin, shared by Niklas Ibach, Nils Hoffmann, Younotus, Modshape, Philipp Bader and Max Joni.
From long studio nights came our first recurring event: “Back2Back” at Ritter Butzke —
OBSOLET artists teaming up in a B2B with one guest each night - artists like
Gorgon City, Umami, Markus Kavka shared the booth with us.
What started as a shared space turned 2018 into a label, a community, a place for different sounds.
We were creating music with artist like M.A.N.D.Y., Lexy&K-Paul, Mc Fitti, Danielle di Martino, HARRIS, Robert Owens Ante Perry and many more.
Our first album followed: ONE.

Zum ersten Mal in dem fast 4jährigen Bestehen des betterlizzen Podcasts werde ich in der Moderation von Corvin Frantsits unterstützt. Corvin ist Teil des Berliner Event-Kollektivs LTMD und kreiert dort zusammen mit unserer heutigen Gästin: Mukkimiau. Maria, liebevoll genannt Mukki, ist mittlerweile Lokalmatadorin der Berliner Technoszene.
