On September 24 and 25, alva noto returns to Berlin for a special live performance at Berghain / Panorama Bar, marking his first live show in the city in over five years.

Renowned for his meticulously crafted audiovisual performances, Nicolai will present a set that channels his signature minimalist precision and rhythmic intensity.

The performance will weave together percussive material from HYbr:ID (2021), the UNI series, and selections from PARA, a new body of work exploring evolving sonic patterns and generative structures.

As with all Alva Noto audiovisual performances, the show will be accompanied by large-scale LED visuals. A rare homecoming within one of Berlin’s most iconic spaces.

‘Obsessive Behaviour Day’ explores equally dark elements yet is even more maniacal, before ‘Épilogue’ closes the journey with an array of sounds and contemplative tones – a powerful synthesis that consolidates the abstraction and conceptuality of the entire experience."

"The word “dissolution” (“Auflösung” in German) is a wonderful concept: on one hand, it can mean solving a puzzle; on the other, it can describe something dissolving like a pill in water. Xerrox Vol. 5 was an attempt to work on dissolution. I wasn’t initially interested in strong, emotional, melodic aspects. “Xerrox Vol. 5 has a lot to do with farewell,” the artist explains. "Not only the farewell to the series itself, which I’ve nurtured for almost two decades, but also there have been many farewells to people who were close to me. I believe these people are recognizable in the music. It’s a very emotional, personal album.”
